🛠️ Devlog: New Enemy – Bladefin
The Bladefin is officially in.
This thing’s fast, sharp, and relentless. I wanted an enemy that felt like a jump-scare with intent—a bioluminescent predator that appears, vanishes, and dives in like a missile.
🌀 Behavior Breakdown:
Spawns off-screen with a mist effect
Teleports to a random vertical zone
Flashes into view, then lunges diagonally like a living torpedo
If it misses the player, it resets and does it all over again
Built using pooling and animation triggers for smooth behavior
đź”§ Design Focus:
I used bold neon colors and a stylized glow to make it pop underwater. The idea is to keep you constantly moving—hesitate for even a second and it’ll slice through your sub.
Everything’s built in Unity. All attacks are timed with animation events, and I’m using pooling to keep performance tight, even with multiple Bladefins on screen.
🎮 It’s chaotic, reactive, and deadly. Just how I like it.
