Hey everyone! Name's Danny and I’ve been working solo on a tactical RTS game called Signal Remnant for past 2 months. July was all about narrowing the scope, creating lot of modular system to support development effeciency (This is the part that took almost a month to develop, but it was so worth it!) , refining UI, and chasing some tricky bugs in my NPC AI system.
Major highlights:
- Switched regional map to 2D texture-based system
- Removed early-game cutscene, lore will now unfold during gameplay
- Moved from turn-based map logic to simplified level progression
- Focused demo scope to just 1 main tactical map
- Implemented modular systems for NPC, HUD, Objectives, and Input
Also... AI still needs more tweaking. Units sometimes ignore commands or misbehave — that’s my current challenge!
