RIVENCLIFF DEV UPDATE // 29.08.2024

Hey there! Welcome back to another update on all things Rivencliff. I'm back from gamescom hungry for work!

Back to work!

Development progress has been quite paused for the past two weeks as I was quite busy during gamescom. I've met a ton of people and had lots of interesting chats about the games industry aswell as new technologies that are emerging.

One big topic for me was my search for work in these stormy times, and by the looks of it, I do not think I will be finding full-time employment soon, so I will have to expand my freelancing efforts in order to make a living and fund projects like Rivencliff.

There is a lot of work to that, and I am actually excited about exploring it, but I also want to make sure that I can atleast finish Cataract before diving into building new incoming streams.

I have tons of ideas on things that could make a little money, so I am looking forward to build enough that allows me to live from it!

Cataract

I have returned to Cataract's development this week! Storyboards are all laid out and just waiting for me to be implemented into images. A few of them are already completed and I will be planning out proper timing for all of time by next week so I can pin down a release date for the game.

Sunset

The sequel for the first Rivencliff game I have released is also progressing! Amethyst, the lead writer for Rivencliff: Sunset, has just finished the first draft of the story and it reads amazing!

We have developed a new writing syntax which allows their writing to be immediately converted into the game script which should reduce production time.

You will play once again as Buru, who wakes up in the forest after a busy afternoon with Lunjy, but notices that his clothes are missing and make your way back to Buru's house through the town of Rivencliff, trying to avoid being seen by anyone!

This is in really early stages of production (as you can see by the timeline image), so more on that soon. Depending on the side business stuff I might have to push that back a bit to ensure that I time I dedicate to it, is undisturbed by other projects.

That's it for now from me. Looking forward to share more with you!

Have a great rest of the week!

Sincerely,

Buru
