Organizing the Future

I have spent the last few months preparing to kick off this adventure. Since November of 2023, I have been working with Gamemaker and learning everything I can about how to make games and what it takes to follow through on projects. My career has given me a lot of the soft skills to be able to do those kinds of things and I have been very happy with the progress I've made so far.

The past months I have spent, laying out and planning different tools and testing environments. Rooms where I can test items quickly, combat zones where I can see how the different changes effect the feel and function of the game. In my time with software development and the Devops field I have had the...blessing of experiencing a number of different management styles and project management methods.  You would be correct to assume that some of them went much better than others. There were projects that went well despite poor planning, and there were projects that went poorly despite good planning. I think anyone that has worked in the tech industry knows the ups and downs of those pains.

That being said, I have had a lot of time to learn and accumulate the best way of doing things for myself, and I have been very happy to find that the method I chose, has been working well. The group of tools that I am working on at the moment is close to being done, and when it is, I will embark on the first full creative journey on building a game.

So I can't say that this post is an announcement of something tangibly new, but it is an announcement in the sense that this adventure is about to start.

I hope I get to meet many of you along the way!
