Monthly Dev Log - January 2024

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am a bit late for the monthly dev log, partly because I've been doing a whole retrospective of the past year over on my blog (there are 2 more posts coming - one outlining the plan for 2024).

No long version of this one anywhere else.

Done in December

> Templates and Guides [NEW & Update]
The SugarCube Guide is finally complete, including all macros, functions, methods and APIs from the official documentation (except the Audio).
It has doubled in page count, and some edits were made in previously published pages.
It is now downloadable and can be found on GitHub (where you can open issues if you see something broken).

Another template, the Title Page Template, was added to the 100% Good SugarCube Templates. This one provides multiple examples of title pages, positioning titles and links in different combination (working for both the Base UI and Custom ones).
The templates have also been copied to GitHub (for safekeeping).

 > Dévoiement [NEW]
The yearly Partim500 had the weirdest theme (the title of the game), but I still wanted to make it work. So here is the small game made in Chapbook/Twine.
Head's up: it's in French.

> Game Jams Organisation
ShuffleComp is about end (this weekend), and the SeedComp! pt2 started in December (will run until March).
Both required quite a bit of time (which meant less time on projects).

Planned for January:

> The Trials and Tribulations of Edward Harcourt (Ch5-6)
Continuing the progress done on what is left. Little was done during the Winter break (turns out no free time...).
Expected completion of the game this year.

> Shuffle-Seed-Comp entry
Over 1000 words were written. I need about 1000 more to complete it by Sunday.

> The Roads Not Taken (fixes)
Hopefully this will be completed this month (since I missed it last month....)
