SSD (Solid State Drive) can improve gameplay, so try switch from running the game from the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) to SSD

Its speculated that 1.8 has a bug in the arcade mode. 1.9 on Patreon seems to be fixed for it, but the update for it to be released on Itch is still unknown for now. They doing a big update for 2.0 version, because they reworking the game with character design, scenery and re-creating Story mode Night 1 and 2. So when 2.0 is done and ready for Patreon, the 1.9 should arrive later after it.
Better wait, since the update for 2.0 seems to arrive soon, so probably next week you can get to play the 1.9 when it arrives on Itch. Or if you feeling supportive, you can support them on Patreon at tier 3 in order to play the recent version available.
I’ve tried out 1.19 and it still happens, although I didn’t change settings. To describe what happens, sound stops when I get into the arcade mode menu and when I try to play, it either lodes a little then a pop up with the icon and an “!” Pops up or it just closes. Anything to do with that?
Edit: Thank you for your help, but ended up downgrading to 1.16 and now it works. I don’t know why but 1.17 loaded but crashes after. I hope I can get them to work in the future though.

I'm on version 1.7 (was the current version when I first played) and now I'm updating to 1.8 (both of which were acquired here on the official Itch.io page) and just wanted to make sure when I updated to version 1.8 that it didn't overwrite my progress for whatever reason. Recently downloaded this game and it was fun until it became unplayable. I was a few minutes in and suddenly my frames started dropping to 1 for a split second making my game freeze but then I'm in control again (Happens every few seconds). this wouldn't be an issue but if I'm turning my camera during this, it shoots my view almost randomly. I'd be running down the hall to get to the computer and suddenly my character would do a 180 and when I spin around and correct my view, it happens again. It's incredibly disorienting and I just cant play this game like this. I lowered the settings, switched to windowed, and updated my Graphics card, but nothing seems to work. My computer is a chonker and can run most newer games at ultra with no problem, so I don't understand why I'm having trouble here. anyone have a solution?
