heres some tips: click the carpet, click the very bottom of the screen in the halway room, and click the banister. this is no particular order, but this took me a while to find these, so here they are
I know this is late, but what youre supposed to do is after the second person is go to the hallway and click on the railing knob (or whatever it is) then you go click on the blue guy, then the red guy, then go down to the basement and use the device there and you can finish off the red guy.

Once you've left the bedroom, look in the drawer to your left and you'll find your phone book.
Go to the kitchen and inspect the phone, then head outside.
