This 2D platformer is fun to play and has a great moody artstyle that fits the game's narrative.

For the sake of clarity for the rest of the comment, I have to clarify that I'm not an experienced platform player.

I actually like the simplicity of the controls a lot, that there is only movement and fixed jump, when pc platformers with more complicated character abilities sometimes require a controller to play them.

The challenge is good without being too frustrating, especially after trial and error you recognise what the safe area is for jumping. Except I did not manage to actually beat it, although I could reach the key areas (seed and spot for planting) in separate runs. Therefore I don't have any other feedback besides what other players already mentioned of wishing there were more checkpoints, because I know I technically can make it to the end but grew a bit impatient after multiple attempts.

I also found it really interesting to encounter the path branching. It makes the game feel less linear when the player has to guess what is the correct path to take.

thanks for playing and for the feedback! It has actually been great how people have reacted to the game and the feedback for improvement is one of the key parts as it definitely will make me a better game developer. thank you once again!

I got to the seed died and found this

love your art style and the music they work really well together. what did you use for the lantern lights?  did you use unity Universal Render Pipeline? I Tried to get 2d lights to work in my game with webGL but everything just looks black?

i believe maybe jumping over there the collider that recognizes the floor has triggered with the invisible one, something to check.

indeed, the lighting was done through URP, there are some steps you must follow to implement the feature, such as creating and adding an asset to the scene at the graphic settings, and them creating a new one for the 2d, which was the case for this game, and adding it to the light renderer. also you need to upgrade the project to consider this new lighting. at the scene, besides the lantern, there is a global light, weaker, to give the overall ambience.

I didn't explain very well how to implement the lighting, but I believe at brackeys channe in youtube there is a good tutorial on this! thanks for playing and for the feedbacks!

thanks for the explanation URP I  followed the  brackeys tutorial and got it to work but it does not work for me on WebGL build  maybe it is because of the version of unity that I am using ,  2020.1.3f1 maybe I should change to an LTS version ?

I don’t know for sure, but  I used version 2020.3.26f1

i like how the game makes me feel, good job!

i miss some checkpoints was a pain start over again always ;p

thanks for playing! and i am already with a checklist of improvements the game could receive thanks to all the feedbacks :)

Really atmospheric little game, I liked the little details strewn around the environment.

thanks for playing !

A fun game I really liked the atmosphere you created.

thanks :)

I really liked the mixture of gloomy mood and warm tones. That small wind animation on plants and trees was nice way to make game world "breathe". Background music was also well chosen to the style.

Maybe my laptop keys is too snappy or im generally bad at platform games, but I did'nt progress very far in the game when i stuck dying on same obstacles over and over (level where introducing deadly drops from ceiling and you can go two different directions). It felt like slightest press on keys already moved the character almost it's own width further. I wouldn’t say it was a bad thing but i personally missed more precise, accelerating controls. I could have played longer but i got bored travelling from starting point to the challenging part.

However, still overall great experience made only in 2 weeks!

thank you for the feedback! as the game as a whole, if you just go through straight without dying, is a short experience, I tried to balance the difficult so the experience would me a bit bigger and more fulfilling, and I am finding out that it can get frustrating! So it is good to be learning how to balance it out better so it becomes a better experience!

nice game. Lovely music and atmosphere

thanks !

thanks for playing it ! Sad that you didn’t complete it ;(

Pretty fun game. The one frustrating part was going to the area where I'm supposed to plant the seed before I got the seed and then having to go backtrack all over again.  And also losing the seed once I died.  Other than that, very nice presentation.

indeed getting to the place to plant the seed before can be upsetting but it was kinda thought out as part of the exploration process. The seed in fact I started to implement the mechanism to keep it with the player once he got it but decided to test it without it. This is definitely an improvement the game can have. Thanks for playing !

A really amazing game! Very impressive level design and beautiful aesthetic!

thank you for the feedback!
