The Future of Among Us
Hey everyone, PuffballsUnited here! It’s been a very exciting time for us the past few months! We’ve absolutely loved seeing everyone enjoying Among Us! Forte has been working hard to get the servers adjusted to deal with the huge influx of players. Thank you so much for bearing with us through these growing pains. Hopefully we can get started on new content soon! Speaking of new content…
Us devs have had several long discussions about what we want to do with the game. When do we stop working on Among Us 1? What content goes into Among Us 2? The main reason we are shooting for a sequel is because the codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content. However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead put all our focus into improving Among Us 1. All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing!
Here’s some things that are coming on the horizon:
* Servers. Forte is still working very hard to figure out our server issues. We don’t have an ETA but things should hopefully be getting better and better. This is taking up all development time on his end.
* Colorblind support. It’s something we’ve put off for way too long… We plan on adding other identifiers for players as well as certain color focused tasks (Like wires). This should also open the potential for more colors. In the past we couldn’t add more colors because it became too difficult to tell players apart.
* Friends/Account System. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time but just haven’t been able to tackle. For the health of the game going forward we’re going to sink our teeth in and figure it out! This one will definitely take some time.
* A new stage! It is still very early and we have only just begun designing the layout. The theme has been settled on though! The next stage in Among Us is going to be a Henry Stickmin themed location!
We have LOTS of other things planned too, we just need to prioritize and organize all our plans. Stay tuned!

Among Us would be better if it has its own in-game voice chat command though.
there will be ppl saying stuff like ‘HoW oLd ArE yOu’ and ‘WhErE dO u LiVe’.
Lol, and instead of getting mad at ppl in the chat, they can just scream at them. LOL
yeah kids play among us imagine an 8-yr-old is just watching all these teenagers scream swearwords at eachother and are dating

I have an idea for among us: ghosts dont attend meetings so they dont leave the game when a meeting is called or their body is reported.
yeah, i mean, the only downside is that ghosts can do tasks during it, so they'd have to fix that if they a c t u a l l y did that, that's what i've wondered, can we still do stuff during meetings? also, it will limit the amount of people trying to get ghosts to show a sign of an impostor, like when you said 'so they won't leave the game'.

One time i was the imposter in among us (2 imposters bdw). Its like what in some youtube videos. I was in electrical with my imposter teammate and 2 crewmates. My imposter teammate closed the electrical door and killed the first crewmate. Then the second crewmate reported the body and I killed the second crewmate. Then its shows the "dead body reported" screen. And everyone are confused. But they think the second crewmate reported the body then left. And everyone skipped. After the meeting was over the second crewmate's body was reported.
i like putting stories on my scratch account. nice to know we have stories on itch.io too.
btw that can happen, they can kill you right before a meeting and yeah, the dead body attends the meeting

Hey innersloth developers I have an idea for the game named: "among us"
When your play a game you can friend and block people the max friends u can have is 10 you can join a friends game with a new button called: "Friends" when you click the button it will display all the names of your friends and there account age. That's my idea hope this gets added and who ever is reading this have a nice day!

Hey InnerSloth i have an idea for game when u go in vent when a player do a task right next to the vent u can kill him put u get out of the vent instant kill and the best u can disable i game settings if is a greate idea reply me :)

Only downside is that kill cooldowns don't do down in vents so you would still have to wait to come out. So make sure your kill cooldown would be off.
Hey InnerSloth, can you add a new feature called the "Random" button.
How it works: Upon pressing it, the game brings you to random (public) lobby

I have an idea for killing instead of chopping off his head the body will sync up with the kill animation so if the impostor shoots it's tounge at the crewmate there would be a crack in his visor

I made an edit in paint.net where I did drawings of each body and how it would look instead of just chopped in half. I am already 4 parrelel universes ahead of you.

Inner sloth I have a good idea for when the imposter kills someone insead of the imposter shooting the crewmate then the imposter will be riding a dinosaur and the dinosaur will eat the crewmates head off or you guys can just keep the shooting part and just add the dinosaur part, thank you. BTW what happen two days ago I could not join a game or create one also, I bet you guys can make the dinosaur look really good.
