Will it be possible for you to create a mac version??

It'd be nice if we could turn the goose's volume down. Don't get me wrong, I love hearing his little steps, but it gets kinda annoying when I'm trying to listen to something else.

(+2)

You can turn it down on volume mixer like you would any other program. A dedicated volume option could be cool but turning it down through that was enough for me

Thatz de point

Absolutely fantastic program. Does use quite a lot of CPU processing, and I'm experiencing a strange issue where the goose will flicker and the app will crash just minutes into operation but overall really funny program!

Edit: I beleive the flickering and crashing issue is something to do with having too many images inthe memes folder. Anybody able to verify?

Would love to see the flickering / crash issue fixed as well as being more optimised so that you can have many geese running around at the same time.

Overall though such a fantastic app you've done a great job! :P

Wow..... I like this a lot!

Wow!!! Desktop goose certainly brightened my day up but now I'm anxious with his presence lmaooo

Will it support Linux Desktop? I'm eager to try it! XD

(+1)

Hey I love your programm.

I had an Idea that you could maybe do in the next update.

It would be really cool when you draged one of those boxes on the desktop around the goose and he would try escaping it by eating it or breaking a small hole into it.

Another thing that would be awesome would be the ability to make water, and the ability to pet

i messed up....

i have two geese now...

help

i just tried 4...

my computer is dying....

help

Go to task manager and delete the ones you don't want from there :)

Go to task manager and delete the file from there :)

(+1)

please add it on mac

(+2)

pls make it available for mac

(+3)

Finally I can keep a pet witout it dying within a week! Thank you!

Anyway, could you maybe make it possible for the goose to walk across multiple desktops? It still works if you switch to another desktop, but you can't see the goose

If you hadn't had said it, I would have. Thank you.

I mean I only play on PC, but this?

3. Get off of Itch.io Tiktok scums. You're not invited or welcomed here. This place is strictly PC enthusiast only, and none if you clearly know what Itch.io is. Don't touch Gamejolt.
Strictly PC enthusiast only? How old are you, 13?

Yeah, some of them are questions about Linux.

It mostly works on Linux from my experience

∆∆∆ this is what we call a pc eliteist, a guy that get impatient over everything thing and everyone should bow down to him all because you don't have a Windows pc or don't have the knowledge to do different tasks

Let others comment what they want, let them learn from there mistakes, and don't shove your c0ck down their throats for not knowing something

(+2)

Bro..... Chill.

1 is a good point, 2 and 3 are overreacting man.

(+1)

Really dude? Going round calling people retards for having a mac? Also nothing about Itch.io is "Strictly PC enthusiast only" it markets itself as "a simple way to find, download and distribute indie games online". Games on the home page of the site are available to download on Mac as well as PC,  not all platform limited.

Dumbasses like you, who are just here to cause hate and drama, are not welcome here. You clearly don't understand what this place is really for.  It's a place for sharing unique ideas for people to share and talk about. Although a Mac port is not exactly likely for this program, it doesn't in any way mean you have to be an ass about it. Nobody invited you here so go learn some manners before returning, thanks :-)

Please don't swear, keep it PG okie

Mate, some of us use Linux.

Linux > MacOS > Windows

This was fun to play with for a bit. A few suggestions i have to make it more of an asshole.

One suggestion as many others suggested it would be multi-monitor support.

Have it leave random shit(like actual poop) on your screen. Could even have it shit on your cursor if you leave it idle for long periods of time.

Have it randomly lay eggs and if you don't remove the egg after a given time it hatches into another one that can do the same things. Once hatched maybe sometimes they will just be annoying and start talking to each other.

Could also have it grab a random window you have open and move it around the screen. To expand on this maybe when you are moving a window it can be an asshole and try to grab the same window you are trying to move or just be an asshole and try to steal your cursor.

Not sure how far you could take it but you could have it randomly go behind your windows(if they are covering your desktop) and start moving icons on your desktop around.

OFC you could have this all be options just incase someone doesnt like them.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas on what you could do to make it even more annoying(personally i dont find it really annoying yet).

(+2)

Yea, that would be an awesome addition! I would probably enable all those features xD infact, it took my mouse away as i typed this and unfocused the window xD i love it! it's the perfect desk buddy!

(+2)

i want it to be able to close windows not made by itself.

whenever i try to open it it wont let me and my whole dell laptop harrasses me with a hundred "this is a virus, we have blocked you from opening it" windows.

(1 edit) (+1)

What would this fall under for a program? Technically would it be a virus? How would one go about making something like this.

(+4)

I need this for Linux

(+2)

It works *kinda*

(+1)

I love this, thank you.

Thirding a source code request, would love to see how this ticks.

Yes, please!

(1 edit)

You can just use ILSpy. I did that. It uses Windows Forms and GDI+.
https://github.com/icsharpcode/ILSpy

If you decide to open source this, I'd happily contribute to the best of my ability.

Is the source available? I'd love to prank a few colleagues but can't risk any destructive behaviour.

If you hold escape for a few seconds, it leaves.

Loved it, just needs multi-monitor support.

(+1)

i'm having problems with the taskbar being hidden behind windows while the goose is running, would be great if fixed

(+1)

Would be nice to be able to customize the character itself with custom files

(+5)(-1)

I wonder if there's a way to turn this thing into some cute chibi anime character that walks around the desktop

(+2)

Or.... you could turn it into Dio.

KONO DIO DA!

Super neat!

I love him, he's so cute! Please add an option to make the footsteps/sounds silent if you have the time!

You can open volume mixer to mute him for no

Thank you!

(+1)

Help, how do you stop the goose. He keeps wandering and I don't know how to deactivate him

(+3)

you cannot halt him in his quest for total human annihilation

(just kidding, all you do is hold escape)

I found a bug!

If you evict the goose while it is dragging you around, it will continue to hold you, even when they are in the shadow realm.

Getting out of it is as easy as just clicking, but maybe this is something you could look into.

(+2)

I need this goose (on Mac) please! :P

I agree :<

(+1)

Can you make this for Chromebook? It would definitely would make browsing less boring lol

I would like to report a bug

If the Goose nab my mouse while I am playing in borderless full screen,  the taskbar will jump out.

(+1)

please make this for Mac too! I get so bored in clas

(+1)

you should add a way to give the goose commands e.g.  double click for it to sit (like with a dog) but after a certain amount of time it disobeys and runs around

or even maybe an option where you can chase the goose around with the cursor

or even make an option for it to have a little pond it can swim in and splash water everywhere?

idk i love this sm tho tysm for your creation

Does this work for dual monitors because I would like my goose to be able to ruin my other monitor aswell

(+1)

OMG, SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!

how do you run it please ( with steps im having trouble)

After you download it double click to go inside the files then click on goosedesktop to extract all files. Then after in get's done extracting all of them  go to the new files and double click back to goosedesktop and then when you click on that it will run. after that when you want to get rid of the goose hold down the esc button and on the top left it will show the program closing. hopes this helps.

(+1)

does this work for chromebook

(+3)

i wish this was on MacBook :(

+1!

(+3)

Please make this available for people with MacBooks! I love the concept and was really sad when I learned it isn't supported on mac. :(

(+1)

Would it be somehow possible to have this work as a screensaver? Remember those?

Back in ye olden dayes my fave screensaver was Bad Dog, a dog that'd dig through your recycle bin, rip holes in windows, leave mud everywhere, etc.

A mode that automatically ticks on after 10 minutes and disappears when you hit a key would be fantastic!

I really like the idea of this as a screensaver
