Ok, I am trying to play with my left and right hands. I have found WASD and LP;' and space for common attack and left and right shift for dashing attack. How do you open the doors?

Developer

Doors should automatically open when all enemies in both rooms are dead 🧐

Submitted(+1)

I really need more coordination to play those kind of games. :D

Pretty cool concept though, I think it works great with 2 players on a split screen. Nicelly implemented!

Developer

Thank you for passing by and giving the game a try

Curious concept😯. The setup and ambience is nice.

I couldn't advance too much as I was playing it by myself 🙈. I guess the experience will be much more pleasant playing co-op. In any case the concept is interesting, nice work!

Developer

Thank you for your time and feedback

Really fun game! I really enjoyed the environments and the game loop felt smooth! Played it with my friend, we both enjoyed!

Developer

Finally! You’re the first to confirm playing the game with another

I’m very happy to hear that the co-op experience was enjoyable

Thank you for your time to try and comment on the game

Really cool idea for your game.10/10.

Developer

Full rating! happy to hear that you liked the game this much

Submitted(+1)

Really Good idea :D but i didn't have someone to play with :(  but the game is really good

Developer

Thanks, I’m happy that you liked it but sad also that you and many others aren’t able to experience the game properly due to the co-op game nature

Submitted(+1)

Did we really get couch coop in this jam? I love it :D. sadly don't have partner to play with, but can see how awesome this could be. Really great work!

Developer(+1)

Yessss, but it took some time of me hitting my head against the wall to have it working :D

Thank you for your feedback, I’ll be working on a single-player mode after the voting period ends

This is a cool game.

I also liked the Lighting and the Sounds you used. As others said before, I would also play this game without a doubt again in as a  single-player.

Another idea (to maybe consider): maybe you could add some weapons... for instance: the ability to shoot arrows at some point of the game could be nice.

Thank you for submitting your game, I had a good time playing it.

Developer(+1)

Appreciate your kind words I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the single-player mode later on

Extra weapons, characters, buffs, enemies, bosses and other types of content is something I’ll add for sure, but I need to settle on the base system for the single-player mode first

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game, didn't have any friends on hand but it seems like it'd be a lot of fun to play coop with one! I appreciate that you made it playable singleplayer at all with the divided keyboard controls!

One addition I think would benefit your game is enemy health bars, it's a small thing but being able to keep track of their hp would be a nice qol feature.

Love the gimmick of your actions affecting what happens on your friend's side, that's an awesome idea!

Developer(+1)

I’m glad you like and thank you for your feedback

I did think of adding enemy health bars but didn’t want the room to be noisy, though I want to experiment with different ways to add a health bar for the enemies without filling the game screen with much noise

Whoa, couch co-op! Cool, bold choice. I don't have anybody here to play with at the moment, but I tried to imagine what it would be like and I think it would be a blast! Having resources affect each other, making them strategic choices, is a very cool idea and gives players the chance to play hero for their friends "Drink the healing potion. You need it. I'll handle whatever comes." That's rad. I personally think if you develop more, you should keep going with the co-op idea for it because it's pretty novel and could be a lot of fun for the right crowd.

Developer

Very happy that you like the game’s core concept, thank you for your motivating feedback

Yes the co-op aspect can take the experience to a whole next level, you can be the hero for your friend or can troll them XD

I’m definitely keeping the co-op, it’s the core part of the experience, and hopefully, I can make it work online too, but I need to add a single-player mode also

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Very cool to see a local co-op game! I don't have anyone to play with at the moment but from what I can tell trying to play it single player it seems very fun! I'll have to revisit it when I have a friend over. I suggest displaying the tutorial when you touch the book because I didn't know what the interact key was. The gameplay looks and feels great! I like how you handled the split-screen and the design of the health bar being in the center like that was really clever! I also noticed there seems to be some randomization to the rooms, that's really cool!

Developer

Thank you for your time, I’m glad that you found my game interesting and sorry about the lack of a single-player mode, I’ll be adding one after the jam

The book thing was added at the last hour before submission so I didn’t have much time to test and re-think it, your feedback is noted and will help me a lot in fixing the game

Yes, the rooms are randomised since this is a rogue-like, and there will be even more randomisation once I add more content

Submitted(+1)

Very challenging to play as only one player but is probably just right for two. If you spam the dash attack you only dash once so It can't be abused which is good design. I did get one hit by the boss duel wielder but I did have fun with it. I think the game could be enhanced with either a block or parry mechanic but the game is good as it is. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your opinion, I’m planning to release a single-player mode after the voting period

I will see if adding a block or parry helps the game, you’re feedback is noted

Great game and made by 1 person which is impressive. Like most people have said, it is difficult to play as one player but rated it as thou I had two players. One idea to help with this is two options, 1 player and two player mode. In the one player mode you could have some basic AI to control one player and have a button to swap player if you need too. This would keep the theme of feeling like 2D as you would flick between the two worlds. Love the concept thou and very fitting to the theme.

Developer

I’m glad that you liked the idea, and I’m willing to add a single-player mode after the voting period since many are asking for it

Thank you for suggesting an idea, I’ll take note of it

Cool idea for this game! Like other's it was a bit too much to play single player, though I really like the concept and I think that you have a good idea to move forward with developing this game out more! From what I saw, it looks like the balance for two players is done pretty well! Nice Job!

Developer

Thanks, I’m happy to hear that you liked the idea and found my balancing to be actually balanced

If I do continue developing the game, a single-player mode will be the first thing to add :D

Submitted(+1)

It was quite hard for a one player, but with two its quite nice and fun. Good take on the theme and execution of the game!

Developer

Sorry about the single player experience, I shall add a single player mode after the jam, thanks for your opinion on the game

Submitted(+1)

The mechanics and the relationship btwn two sides is a good concept and idea to fit  the theme, though it's a two player game, but good job!

Developer(+1)

I’m glad you liked the concept

and yeah the 2 player thing killed my chances of winning XD not many people have someone to play with locally

Submitted(+1)

I had fun trying, but failing miserably at playing the game because I did not read the description xD
I don't think it's possible to go past a level as a single player. It has a lot of potential for a co-op game, but maybe not so much with a keyboard. I feel it would be awesome with controllers.

A single-player mode can possibly work. It would need enemies to be a 1 hit kill though, and don't have so many right from the start. It needs some background music too, but overall it's a great concept!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your time and feedback, it helps a lot I’m glad you enjoyed trying it and I will take note of all your suggestions

I Agree with you about the controls, I had to add a keyboard since not many people (including me) have controllers, but the game supports controllers

Submitted(+1)

My bad, I stopped at the keyboard instructions on the game page and I didn't test if the controller worked!

Developer(+1)

No worries mate

I liked the idea a LOT :D But the actualy gameplay for one player was just way too much for me, being able to coordinate moving in both (especially when I got to the level where there was spikes), while trying to avoid arrows and killing the enemies was overwhelming :D

It would for sure be a fun sofa co-op game with some trolling (just drink all the health potions on your side to spawn minibosses for your mate :D

Also just a heads up for the controls, some countries have different places for keys (atleast the right side of it), I'm rocking a Finnish keyboard, so for me I found them by testing :D, because I think they were like P L Ö Ä letters.

Would need some rethinking how to get it working with just one player, maybe somehow the other side would have to do something to help end the spawning of the enemies on the other side (like a small puzzle) and the other side would focus on killing. That way you wouldn't have to worry about the other side dying, but if you don't do the puzzle or whatever it would be the spawning never ends on the other side and you'll be fighting forever :D

Developer(+1)

So happy that you liked the idea, you’re words will keep me working on the game It’s overwhelming for sure :, I was focused on balancing it for 2 players and I forgot that the majority will try the game alone

Yeah the trolling part is my favourite XD, If I make it a full game, I’ll make sure to add more of them XD

I was worried about the keyboard keys problem but didn’t have time to add rebinding sorry

Cool idea, thanks, I’ll write it down

Really appretiate your time and feedback

Submitted(+1)

Great idea. You did a great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks 😁, you too mate
