May 18 Update

Hello all! The Kickstarter is halfway over and there have been some big developments.

First of all, the Kickstarter is halfway over!! If you've been waiting to pledge, now is the time! We are slowly creaking towards the goal but we'll need more support to get there.

Writing

The first draft of the game is complete at I believe 220K. I'm starting the editing process, beginning with Aalam's route. I will try to keep to my one scene a day mantra from before, but since editing is a bit more complex I might need to jump around or linger in some places to make sure everything's stacking up as it should. Either way, the writing is going great and I can't wait to show off more previews!

Which you can see in the Celestial Crowns discord's "writing vibes" channel.

Backgrounds

One more background has been completed for the prologue! I won't be showing it just yet, but that means just one more before the prologue is totally background ready! There are only a couple more Lauté backgrounds for other chapters, but those will be all we need for the prologue. Yay!

CGs

CGs are waiting until I find out if the Kickstarter is funded or not, because that will directly affect how many CGs the final game will have. While I would love to fund everything myself like usual, Celestial Crowns is a bigger project than I normally do since I've hired out other artists. So fingers crossed we can get more eyes on the Kickstarter!

Conclusion

Super excited to get more of the script done! No matter what happens with the Kickstarter, I will be continuing to edit and polish the script. However if we aren't funded, I might need to change some things to allow for a smaller scope.

I commented something similar on the Kickstarter as well, but don't give up on the Kickstarter! The developer of The Silent Kingdom, Lucky Cat, had her Kickstarter for the game fail it's first time. Then she tried it again, and it was fully funded plus some. So, if the Kickstarter fails, try again. No harm no foul, right? I will of course come back and make my pledge again if it does fail this first go and you try again. ^_^

Thank you for the uplifting words!
