Neurolink Demo

Hey Stick People! Sorry that this has taken so long!

We've built a standalone demo of one of the new modes for Stick It To The Stickman. It takes about 2 hours to complete. You can download it for free!

In the final version of Stick It To The Stickman there will be several different jobs you can take and try climb to the top of that company. In this gamemode you can apply to be a test subject for the Neurolink company and have your brain experimented on.

As you can see in the gifs below, things get weird very quickly.

Features of this demo:

  • Manipulate the world with your mind.
  • Destructible environments.
  • Dodge lightning strikes (from your fellow test subjects).
  • Throw paper planes.
  • Show those scientists who is god.
  • Learn to eat hospital food.
  • Become a high tech billionaire .
  • Isometric camera angle.
  • 5 new test subjects to try out.
  • Shoot lasers from where your eyes should be.
  • CPU melting ragdoll physics.

Once I download it what am I supposed to do? I'm not used to downloading mainly PC games since I use bluestacks so I'm confused.

If you're new to downloading games - your best best is to use the itch app : https://itch.io/app

great game even in his demo phase, but i do have a question

what does every character passives do?

(1 edit)

Thanks for playing! The best way right now is to experiment/trial and error - although more detailed info on the passives is something the team is looking at.

how do you download this

Above these comments - click "Download Now"

Are you sure that it is a demo? It's more polished than Cyberpunk 2077

(+2)

That's very kind of you to say. And we don't even have THAT many "celebrity" cameos

(+1)(-2)

Didn't see a video on the secret character so I made one, am I allowed to post a link?

Please do. What secret character?

(+1)

Okay tried to do just the link, but I guess the whole video works too

As long as there are no spoilers in the thumbnail or title - I don't want to ruin it for people who don't want to see spoilers.

AAAAA I've been waiting for so long :D

Let us know what you think of the demo!

In one of the final boss fights at the halfway point when everything turns gray, I wasn't spammed by grunts, there may have been multiple bosses for a little, also the screen never went back during the fight. Bug or secret boss twist?

(1 edit)

It's the boss's final attack. He was attempting to take over your mind. Not a bug, and not really a secret, don't worry, nothing's broken

Sorry I meant screen went to white when the grunts were supposed to come, I'm referencing the boss stage before locking my abilities and forgot to mention, it seemed like he may have been partially invisible(remember thinking hard to see and/or track) and again there's supposed to be a grunt interruption but instead I was still seeing the missile 'x' marks and laser lines, but couldn't see him

Yea that's probably a bug

I dont have winzip!, do I even need winzip, winzip was not eaxactly required at first

It's a .zip file. Have you dealt with a .zip file before?

yes sorta but I never had anything ask me for win zip before

If you can't find a zip program, I think you can use 7-zip

If you're struggling with winzip - maybe you could try use the itch app : https://itch.io/app

the special ability doesn't work for me

So you pressed z while playing, and it did nothing?

i figured it out, it was because I had to press x

Oops I'm an idiot

seeing a single stickman being impaled with 6 spikes at once is a sight to behold.

This demo is awesome, adding a third dimension, a range mechanic, as well as moves and abilities that can be upgraded more than three times, even if the upgrades are usually less radical than SITTSM, they have a lot of synergies. It's overall more fun, and you were mostly right about a melting cpu.

I've had a peeve ever since the release of SITTSM. I really wish I could see what abilities, especially passive ones, and upgrades do exactly. The create-your-own-business mostly fixed the description problem a lot, (except for Saitama's passive description, wtf does that do, if anything) but now in this demo, it's difficult to remember exactly what's changing when you upgrade, and I don't think you can tell when taking an upgrade will max a move out.

I get that it's a demo, so maybe in the future there could be a table, journal, or something in the character or pause menu that shows what abilities, moves, and upgrades for those moves you've found so far, with descriptions, would help greatly. And for passive abilities, maybe u could hover over the box when you choose a character to give a description of what it does. I mean, what do "Free Lunch," "After Party," "Dead Eyed Stare" etc do? I have no idea, even though it's probably most of what separates it from the other characters

I have decided to try and document every upgrade in a notebook, it's actually kinda fun, lol. Noticed that you really fleshed out each move, and they each play differently, so props to you guys, but it's a little difficult to tell when you have at over 5+ moves doing things at once. I might sound like a killjoy, but I really think this might be more fun if you limited the amount of moves you can have, (maybe 6?) and maybe be more generous with rerolls. Along with that, create a way to delete moves. I believe you could have a more fun and controlled build with moves that compliment each other that way.

But I can't document passives, so I still really wanna know what the passives do. Also I've noticed that my range expands and shrinks back down for seemingly no reason while I'm fighting, is that part of a combo meter or something?

Also, I now realize I am playing this way more than most people and prob taking it way more seriously lol

This game is great. It's another look at how a game can be played differently. New characters and powers are really interesting, but the phase where you can't use your power at the last boss is kinda unfair. You would just get hit from everyone in the room and get toss around. Over all, this is a great gamemode/update from you guys. Keep up the good work.

P.s. : it really is a CPU melting ragdoll physics.

Thanks for the input.

for some reason it doesent auto select or show the link once i click download it only shows hardrive

Lots of people have more success using the itch app : https://itch.io/app

i cant install the neurolink demo as it says i dont have unity something i tried to install that but that dint work eather

Your best bet is to use the itch app : https://itch.io/app

Didn't think that such a good game like Stick it to the Stickman could be better. I was wrong. But seriously this is so good that i genuinely am surprised it's a beta. One thing that I don't like however, is the balancing. The amount of damage some enemies can do is surprising, I think the main one is the snipers that can kill you in one hit from across the room, but besides that, this game is really amazing.

Thank you for the positive and helpful feedback. I am sure the team will tweak balance issues as things progress.

Not really a bug but when you use debris shield and you try to go to the next room the debris hits the door closing it. And makes it hard to progress to the next room. That was just some random annoying thing i found but still really fun.

Thanks for pointing that out - I'll pass it on to the team

(1 edit) (+2)

An idea for the dev's: Just change the debris rotation direction. It's closing the doors because it's going clockwise and the doors open to the right. Another thing I've had a problem with is getting thrown around by the debris, specifically the bodies. Also, is there a test mode like there was in the first one? (Where you press N to level up instantly)

Really cool demo cant wait for it to be finished. Since its about neurolink i am surprised there isn't any monkeys. Like maybe as a character or an ability but other than that really cool demo.

The team appreciates the kind words - glad you enjoyed the demo.
