Hello guys, I have no words to describe your game except O-H  M-Y  G-O-D! it's fantastic!

You guys managed to reinvent how to move around in a game! Man, this is too crazy !!!

I was dumbfounded by the mechanics of the game, it's just amazing!

The game is perfect! I just missed a "pause" button on it.

Have you ever thought about working this mechanic for a knect device?

That would be out of this world!

I am really happy to have known this game!

Congrats!

The walls are so annoying! I lose half my health before it even starts lol. Mabye make it so the walls do less damage? Or two seperate health bars, one for walls and one for the shapes.

It's incredibly fun, but also very hard. I would like to have an option to remove taking damage via hitting the walls, as well as add some invincibility frames. Other than that, I love this game. Very cool.

(+1)

only two things of real bad note for me:
- since invincibility can go through enemies and damage has a small pop out, the player can keep popping out inside of an enemy and just get trapped. not a big deal in normal play, but i'm trying to speedrun, which means not killing enemies, and from there you get the idea.
- escape button. i personally kept pressing escape at first to pause the game to reset (obviously not the controls but i'm used to osu), and i got annoyed pretty quickly when it just closed the game.

otherwise, clean concept. unique, well thought out, and well executed.

very fun!

Really, really cool concept, just have some gripes. My main cause of death in this game is me rapidly bouncing between the walls and an enemy which melts my HP, so having a couple of invincibility frames right after taking damage would be nice. Another thing is to make the beat markers larger, as a tiny thing on the bottom of the screen just makes it hard to focus

wah ?!?

(-1)

Really cool concept for a game, but there's a couple things which prevent me from enjoying it. The main one is that the incoming snares and kicks are too small and similar for me to tell which is which without taking my attention away from the action. It would help if they were bigger, colored differently, shaped differently, etc. It's also extremely frustrating that there's little to no invincibility frames after being hit, meaning you can take damage multiple times from hitting a triangle just once, or bounce in between multiple of them, or between one of them and an edge of the screen. There's also some small things, such as how the yellow powerup takes too long to start, and how sometimes the amount of triangles can be overwhelming with how the movement system works, but that's really it

The game is broken on my PC, it runs but everything is either invisibe or not where it's supposed to be, does anyone have a fix for this?

(+1)

quick question is there a .deb version?

(1 edit) (+3)

You know, this is a great game, I played it since the GMTK Game Jam 2020 version, and, I always liked the idea of combining the instruments, the music, with the game controls, the game itself, is a masterpiece for me, simple controls, great music, runs really fast; the point is that I like it, I could put on my headphones, and let the beat flow all over my system, definitely, one of my favorites...

And, because of that, I decided to make a logo for this game, and the result is:

I must say, it's kinda basic, but it gets the job done.

I already convert it into a .ico file, the link is here (and it's a Google Drive link)

great logo

Thanks so much for doing a linux build!

(+1)

Thank you for playing! Hope everything is alright with the linux build

(+1)

God, I SHOULD READ THE NAMES

I like tha game although I haven't played it but I have seen game play and it looks nice and I hope you can make it for older windows because mine is a 2007 computer and well I get bored easily.

PS: I have seen this game and overall I like all of your games just from watching them keep up the good work and yes I wrote this in less than 5 minutes because I have a timer on right now:)

Ummmm can you make this game downloadable for android devices?

Had a lot of fun figuring out what was happening and then took about 20 minutes to beat the first 2 levels. Love the concept, really cool idea. Feels pretty satisfying when you complete a level.

(+1)

great game. cant wait for you to add more elements to the game. also, since its a rhythm game and the beat its making is a left to right, i suggest adding like a level-per-level. each one being difficult than the other and the others that have different beats.

this idea may not be added but still.
keep up the good work!

(+1)

Games fun and hard which could be good practice for aiming though the one issue for me is no invincibility frames after getting hit so you just kinda die instantly sometimes for one mistake unless thats how you wanted it to be then nevermind and keep up the good work:D

Is there any method of contacting you? I have found a bug on the main screen, but I imagine these comments are probably not the place for that sort of thing.

Twitter DM might be the best option for now.

this game looks so cool!

I wish i could play it on mac.

Is there a way to run it on mac with an emulator?

Mac version out now! Let me know if you encounter any problems!

the game doesn't seem to work on mac. I downloaded it and after unzipping I got an app named macOS and it wouldn't run.

I recommend you to install it via the itch app

Game is way to hard for me, but the art is nice and I still had a lot of fun playing it!

I'm trying to make a guitar hero style game for my first unity project and am struggling with making a beatbar + syncing the notes with the music. How did you achieve your beatbar? Do you have the code posted somewhere so I could learn?

Code is not public now, but if you send me a dm on twitter, I can give some tips.

This game is amazing, Looking forward to a full game similar to this if you make it!

Where did you get the kick/snare sounds from?

DataDrive’s 80s Retro Futuristic Drum Pack

For those who want a Linux build, you can try launching the game through Steam using ProtonDB until then.

can you build the game for linux pls

Sooner or later. Sorry for the wait, make sure you follow so you can get a notification when it’s ready:)

yeah pls

Where is the patreon button? I can't find it anywhere xD

(+1)

I love this game. I would like to play a full long game experience someday.

(+1)

Working on it…:)

can you make a mac version please?

Working on it but there are some problems with the current state of it. Hopefully I can release it soon but unfortunately I don’t have that much free time for it these weeks. But it’s still planned.

Mac version out now! Let me know if you encounter any problems!

game is fun. its look like beat saber outside of vr. but its need work
try add new level, enemy and challenges.add a pause and select level menu too.
good luck ;)

(+2)

hey your game is amazing. But it would be nice if you add the feature to left click to restart because when playing I leave my keyboard ad only hold my mouse thus it would be more convenient to have all the controls on the mouse.

Thanks for the feedback:)

(+1)

im stupid. How do i play once downloaded

(+1)

once its downloaded open it up in your files, it should open a zip file, just double click the file that says Laserwave.exe in there, it should open the game

(+1)

it just says this application may depend on other compressed files in this folder. and if i just press run it says data folder not found

(1 edit) (+1)

Just extract the folder before you play. It should be right there beside the "Run" button. (and then you run the game from the folder it generated, not the .zip!)

Very good game, i am not very good at this game, but, good game. Keep up the good work:).

(+1)

Could you release a linux version? It would be a nice challenge.

You have a lot of potential! Keep up the good work!

Linux version out now! Let me know if you encounter any problems!

(1 edit) (+1)

Didn't encounter anything. Everything works great! I think the cursor might be bigger than in the Windows version, but that doesn't change anything. Keep up the good work!

Glad to hear. Thank you very much for the feedback!

hey dude, would like to know if you have seen my comment on the post-jam update. thanks!

Great game, with a lot of potential. There is a challenge, a learning curve to mastery, and potentially nearly limitless level expansion (as long as you have the music). Hope to see the longer version eventually)

(+1)

Could you release a mac version?

I hope so. Didn’t really have time to work on it lately. I’ll release it as soon as it’s tested:)

Mac version out now! Let me know if you encounter any problems!

Alright, so who else used 8 lasers on level 3 like a scrub...

Jokes aside, this is a super cool concept.

(+1)

This would be even more incredible than it already is if it had like a custom mode after level 3.

Like you could choose your health, choose the boss health, the frequency of power ups, and the entire drum beat line. That would be SOOOO incredible.
