i don't think you would like it if anyone compared between your work so i will just get straight to it , i'm lucky to have played this version before the other one since this vn was longer than the other but lol i'm upset i played this before the new one , i mean like i knew what was going on but also it had rather much details like character details and the writing was captivating especially when you were describing the buildings lol and you really made me taste how the mc was feeling all along  , oh and i got to see another face for my crush laurent , i'm afraid to read what you publish in the vn pages since i may spoiler for myself and that's absolute no good even though i'm sure you will warn us , as foreign to English language i get to learn many hard words lol and i'm really honored to play your wonderful games , they're just my cup of tea .

thank you for delivering to us these dark fantasy marvelous vn games , i love almost everything about them .

i'll be little shameful and ask for little favor , may you direct me into how i can start writing , i found out that reading and writing were good to develop my language given that i don't like private teachers since i had my share of them before but i also hate self study but i'v to give it my best , can you like send me links if it's not too bothersome into how i can start writing and engage myself into it ? thank you in advance my favorite developer .

Well the VN is a demo of the IF, so it encompasses a bit of the story without going too much into detail, while the IF is a more in-depth experience, with more choices, etc. That, and the PFM VN was the first story I ever wrote, so there’s a lot I’ve learned since then, both writing and coding-wise. And I do hope to keep improving as time goes on.

I am a bit self-indulgent in the things I write, so I know it might not be everyone’s cuppa, but I am happy to hear it’s enjoyable enough!

Now, how to start writing hmm, to be honest, I don’t think I have any helpful pointers. I just read a lot, so I found that writing came naturally when I started. That said, I would recommend looking up those how-to videos from actual screenwriters, as they offer insight into the delivery of the scene, dialogue, and presentation. Their tips can be used for ‘regular’ writing, too, not just for movie scripts, so you might find them helpful.

i hope you don't mind but i'm praying for your eternal success , cheering  and i hope that won't put you off i'm simply loving your enthusiasm in writing and coding , i aspire to do the things i love  without a pressure , i'm lost for words not in a bad way and please don't you feel the need to justify your works everyone have different taste and do please excuse my language and mistakes , i don't interact lots with foreign people so forgive me if i was being rude again .

thank you again and i'll work by your advice.

Thank you sm! ❤️

I've had the game for a while and by a while I mean a long time, but this game is honestly sooo~ well put together and I love all the different routes we can pick amd chose from and did I mention that art? Like Reed hello?! He's so fine for no reason at all, def gonna make some fan art, I hope I get to see more visual novels like this one

Thank you for saying so! It means a lot to me to know that people are enjoying my game. :D The sequel to Perfumare will also be a Visual Novel, so I hope you'll like it as well. <3

This game is amazing. I prefer the vn version a lot more. I don't mean to intrude but I'd like it if you could possibly get back to this version and finish it after you're done with the IF version. Whenever you can of course. It's just such a pity that it's only going to be finished on one type. Well, either way the story writing is genius.

Thank you! <3 I get what you mean, and honestly I'd love to one day add the IF's script to the VN, but it's simply not possible right now. The key idea of extending Perfumare as a text-only project was meant to allow me to add more content without having to worry about including all the art assets that, while are fun to do, take a lot of my time and energy (not to mention coding them all into the game, too). From the start, the VN was made to only be a short trailer of sorts, but if I have the chance and more free time in the future to get back to it, I'll think about it more seriously. Or more likely, I'll consider adding some art assets to the IF version, to make it more VN-like, but that's only after I am done with the base game.

I truly appreciate you replying, and the consideration. I know that you have your plans so it's nice of you to even think of it as a possibility. I know what it's like to just want to get the first things on your plate finished before even thinking of anything else. Love your games <3!

OH MY GOD

this is literally the best game on itch.io, no joke. the author's writing style is ABSOLUTELY delightful and Reed's route had me giggling and kicking my feet for literally FIVE HOURS STRAIGHT (I binged the game because it was just so good 😫). I loved the snarky banter between Reed (or should I say, Alcide—really loved the meaning of the name and the snippets of Italian in the story :3) and the MC, the visuals were utterly stunning, and I adored seeing the miniscule changes in expression in the characters; it really added to the story overall.

Thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU, author for creating this wonderful game. I plan on replaying and getting all of the endings but I just had to leave a comment because of how blown away I was by Perfumare. I am now an avid fan of your games and can't wait to play more of yours in the future! ^^

🥺 Thank you for your sweet comment, and for making my entire day! I hope my other projects will also be to your liking.❤️

Hi! I read something about MC2 and romancing Allan on your tumblr. Is there like a spin off or sth? And if so where can I find it. Alan seems so grumpy it's cute.

Hello, please read the FAQ, it has the answers to all the questions you might have! :D

Oh, right, for some reason I didn't think to check it. Well, sorry to bother you, thanks for replying and thank you for your works, they by far one of the best I've seen.

No problem, it happens! :D Thank you for playing! <3

Hi, I loved the game :) but I never get reed and jewel's true ending 2, can someone help me?

I already did everything that the guide says but even so I get other endings, I don't know what I'm doing wrong :(

Hi hon! Take a look at the comment below and the answer to it. :D

In short, the differences between ending 1 and 2 are minimal in-game, given that the VN ends shortly after, so you didn't really miss much. If you'd still like to get it, though, take a look at which 'fraction' your MC decided to work with. The placement of the choice depends on the route, so they might pop up and different times.

Let me know if you need more help!

Sooo I played Reed's ending and I CANNOT EXPLAIN  HOW MUCH I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM however I have few questions regarding the endings

So I got reed's true ending 1/2 so can I get a hint on how to get the second ending? And is that all for his ending or is there more endings that include him as well?

And

Is there also 2 true endings for laurent and jewel?

(Also love the game)

Hi, glad to hear you enjoyed the game! :D

There are several miscellaneous endings you can get thorough the game, but the last one depends on which, let’s say ‘group’ you chose to work with, if that makes sense without the spoilers. It’s a minor, flavor change, seeing as the VN ends there, so I don’t think you need to replay because you’re not missing much.

As for Reed-specific endings, aside from the minor endings in his route, there aren’t any extras in the public version of the game. There will be more choices and outcomes added in the Interactive Fiction version of Perfumare - Avulsion, though, and you can find the game on my profile.

The pre-ending scenes are different for each character, but the very last scene ending is the same for all routes, with a flavor variation as to what I mentioned earlier. I do have a guide for chapter V, since it contains the most miscellaneous endings, and you can find it along some snippets on my ko-fi, all free to read.

This was incredible. I've only played Reed's route so far, and his character was so incredibly endearing to me. I have to put this down and play the other routes another time, I'd feel like I were cheating on him if I started a different one right now. On to Avulsion.

Thank you! I hope the other routes will also be to your liking, as well as the extended version of Reed's route in Avulsion <3

Is this going to get updated any time soon? I'm just curious....

(+2)

As stated on the main page: Perfumare (Visual Novel) can be played as a standalone and doesn't require any knowledge of Perfumare: Avulsion. That means the Visual Novel content is done, and this version won’t be updated. The full game is being released in Interactive Fiction format and can be read [here]. For more information, please check the main page. Hope that helps :D

oh I see, thank you so much for the explanation <3

No problem! :)

what's the mc powers ?and is the game finished ?

MC’s affliction is called ‘allure,’ the power is explained more in depth in-game. The Visual Novel version of Perfumare is finished as stated on the main page :)

I really liked it and Jewel is so cool. Thanks a lot for this great work!
