My antivirus will not let this thing install, and I have tried almost everything :')

install it through the itch.io app version, then it should work.

I'm very frustrated with the bugs in this game.

This game is really fun, but there are a lot of bugs that make it difficult to play smoothly.

The screen goes black, only the sound plays,

I couldn't do anything and ended up having to restart... Please fix the bug!

(1 edit) (+7)

only complaint I have is no tutorial for all types of.. things. if that makes sense. (for people like me who cant and haven't played the original series) and also the offset beat for 'classroom'. I literally cant figure that one out lol.

seeing this program release after being on the discord server for 2 years is so satisfying

ive sunken like 30+ hours just making one remix and im having SO much fun with it. everyone elses creations are so cool and it feels so good to finally play custom remixes!

i have two things to request about the editor!!

1. make the area to extend stretchable cells bigger, ive found it a bit annoying looking for that small spot to grab it

2. give the camera a start and end position option please!! theres some bits where i want the camera to pan up then continue panning up from the bottom of the mini game for a clean transition. however, i cant do that without a small cell in place to snap the camera into that specified spot. that gives it a weird pause for a split second though.

other than that, i hope yall continue to work hard with this!!

oh i also ran into a big in flipper flopper!

it displays the miss animation for flipper rolling even though i hit it correctly.

please report bugs in the official discord server, you're more likely going to get an answer there

Help the Linux doesn't let me go into the game I am stuck on the first screen

Linux Mint, right? We're having problems with that specific type of Linux right now due to it lacking controller drivers (which also happens to lock up All controls in the game,  even keyboard). All I can say is we'll probably have it fixed by the next version, I hope?

meh I suppose good luck on your game!

(-1)

I've tried every controller I own (PS4, PS5, Wii U Pro, Switch Pro, and 8bitdo Pro2), and the only one that got even the _slightest_ response was the 8bitdo in Dualshock mode, which registers about one button press every five seconds. Nothing else has this problem, so I have to assume something's wrong here

my balls hurt

(-1)

I tried to connect my controller to the game; only the keyboard and mouse popped up.  If there's a solution please reply!! It looks awesome so far :3

plug in your controller and press auto search and press a button and it should wor

its not working for me either. i even added the game to my steam library and it didn't work.

finally i can play custom remixes! there really needs to be a single custom remix database but just having this in my hands feels great!

Howdy! I'm trying to run the Mac version on 10.14.4 and the finder window doesn't appear when pressing play on the main menu and in the editor. Is there an alternative way to open files?

Are you on the newest version? This should have been fixed as of version 1.0.1. Join our discord for more help!

Hello, I'm new here. Can't access any of the versions at the moment.  Are there plans for the app to run on Chrome OS?

Thank you

Hi! Roll in the kittens game does not work, they do not appear

(sorry for text mistakes. i used translator, because im bad in english)

(+1)

have you tried toggling the stay spawned checkbox in the first cue

no, thanks!

(-2)

Is there any way to make custom minigames? I want to make games to put in remixes…

(+2)

Bruh the only reason theat i coudn't get superb in trick on the class was because of the latency ik someone already said it but a universal offset calibration system would be a HUUUUUUUGE improvement. (Also is it just me or any other people's RH app crashing when they complete an in-game remix?)

(+2)

Rhythm heaven fundamentally does not work with calibration. the visual and audio feedback of all minigames would essentially require turning back time if we wanted to implement offset unlike other games where the input can be easily changed or set late. We do eventually plan on implementing a custom audio engine a-la Bits & Bops to reduce latency to almost nothing, though.

yeah because i'm stupid can you add a "rhythm heaven fever" button mode that adds like 40 or so ms of input delay?

(+5)

this is very fun and very impressive, but there NEEDS to be sync correction during a stage.  one lagspike in the middle of a stage and the timing is permanently off.

i've also noticed there are no "You" indicators, which would help refresh the player's memory of what they're doing.

(global audio offset calibration would also be huge, but an unfortunate logistical nightmare for a game with reactive audio like this)

How do I delete items without spamming the undo button? Trust me, not being able to figure it out already makes me feel stupid.

(+1)

i don't know if this is the proper way of doing this? but pressing the delete button on your keyboard works lol :)

A MONTH LATE BUT THIS WORKED THANK YOU

When is Update 2 coming out?

(+4)

bro it released almost 10 days ago calm down

How do you download this on windows?

(+1)

click the download button for the file "HeavenStudioWin64.zip". You will need to extract the file contents of the zip folder once downloaded, but all you need to do is right click the zip folder and click extract all, then select the destination folder (it defaults to the location of the zip folder, usually downloads) and click extract. In the new folder, find the Heaven Studio executable file (usually marked as .exe) and run the file.

But when i click on the application it is not opening up

In everywhere but the taskbar (desktop, file explorer, etc), you must double click the file for it to run. (you could also right click it and press Run in the menu of options)

The hand in Fork lifter is slightly out of place before it flicks

Heya! I was just wondering how to play Heaven Studio using Linux, I'm super new to it, I don't know what to put in the terminal and stuff, pls help lol. I really wanna play your game, I've seen lots of cool stuff so far!!

Open a terminal and cd into the directory where you downloaded the .zip file, something like:

$ cd ~/Downloads

Extract the .zip file using a program like 7z (make sure to install it using your package manager if not already installed). Command should look like:

$ 7z x HeavenStudioLinux.zip

This will create a .tar file. Extract that file also using 7z:

$ 7z x *.tar

This creates a directory called 'build'. cd into there and into the subdirectory. There you'll find a file called 'Heaven Studio' (use `ls` to check). Make this file executable like so:

$ chmod +x Heaven\ Studio

And finally run the program:

$ ./Heaven\ Studio

I've been waiting for this since it was in early development and when I saw that trailer in December, I tweaked out. Just made a remix 5 minutes ago and it was so fun to do so. I just have one question though, what type of controllers are currently being supported?

Switch, PS4, and PS5 controllers currently work! We're working on more support for the future though, for stuff like XBOX controllers and even Wiimotes :)

I tried it on a Puppy Linux (fossapup64) computer and it's not working. It opens, and a split second later, it closes. I am using a Dell Inspiron One 2020 with 4gb ram. Can you fix this?

Hello, maybe the issue is that you have 4 gigabytes of ram. Try getting a computer with more ram. Thank you.

yes, please get more ram op!! 16 gigs will do you plenty of good

it does work on my laptop which has 6gb of ram. I’m pretty much ruling it down to the OS now, the puppy Linux version I have is pretty janky imo

oh honey, rhythm heaven maker released, and its free!

(-1)

Can i know what games are in update 2 please?

This has the potential to be the best thing to come out of rhythm heaven since megamix. I hope this sees lots of success.

(+1)

Got it working fine on macOS. Really excited to see where you go with this - provided you-know-who doesn't stomp it.

(Also pulling it for Linux, to see if I can get it going on my impending Pi 5 build...)

(1 edit) (+3)

Made this account for the sole purpose of saying this is the best thing since rhmegamix. It's real similar to adobe premiere which I like, and if you know the basics of that, its super easy to use! I love that you can customize basically every single thing, I know I'm gonna be using this a lot 🤤 I'd suggest something but chances are there's plans to add it later anyways lol, can't wait to see what else we get!

I do have one question though, how do you auto play inside a game rather than the editor? I wanna get a clip of my entire remix with the prologue but I don't want it to look weird with me messing up.

MacOS Tutorial

Hello all Mac users! Can confirm that RHS works on Mac! Follow these steps:

Extract ZIP file to desktop / downloads, drill down until you find the Heaven Studio (the app), then move HS to Applications folder in Finder. From there, launch game. When you press "Play" a finder window will appear to allow you to select games. Navigate back to the extracted folder and open a game under the Levels folder.

Hope this helps!

Tested on M1 MPB.

Message me for questions.

I think the issue is with older Mac versions.

How do I open files (.riqs adn audio) with RHS? (on mac)

the play button isn't doing anything on mac

wait, how can I open it on Windows?

maybe you need to unzip then open the exe, idk

Doesn't recognize my Xbox controller on windows?

No XBOX controller support currently! Sorry

h

this game is an h/10

that means its GREAT

(+3)

Would be nice if I had a tutorial to use the editor.

(+6)

My first issue is there is no instructions for which button does which action. This doesn't feel like a learning curve when I first have to learn the controls. Some instructions would be nice at least so I don't have to do the same song dozens of times just to learn which button does what.

(+4)(-5)

Heaven Studio won’t include any tutorials for existing Rhythm Heaven games. It is not a replacement for official games, and therefore does require knowledge of the original games. Any games NOT from the Rhythm Heaven series, such as Meat Grinder and Rhythm Sōmen, will get their own practices.

(+4)

I would think there should at least be a controls tutorial/guide, especially where the official control scheme of a game (i.e. Rockers having a hold-and-flick touch screen system in DS) is entirely different from how it works in Studio. Even just a controls-list readme like "in DJ School, hold A to stop the record, then [insert action here] to Scratch-O" would go a long way to help.

Requiring prior knowledge of the official games to know how to play a game well is fine. Requiring trial-and-error to figure out which inputs do what game actions is a bit much.

Nice first update! Also, Can you add Fillbots in Update 2 please? It's my favorite game.

(+1)

Add a toggle for English and Japanese vocals, please.

(1 edit)

maybe also spanish for the ds games?

(+2)

Planned, eventually! Right now we're using sort of a mish-mash of english and japanese, but eventually you'll be able to freely toggle between them, per-game

(+8)

Wanted to ask if there was any support for modifying the input delay.  I could just be bad at the game (I'd like to think I'm good at Rhythm Heaven, lol), but I think being able to adjust the timing, either by a calibration or just a adjusting a millisecond setting, esp. for a PC rhythm game, would be a good quality of life feature.

(+5)

I second this. I gave most of the default remixes a try as a Rhythm Heaven veteran—first with a controller, and then with the keyboard. Neither changed the fact that doing what felt natural to me led to most inputs being registered as "too late", with noticeable improvements when I'd force myself to hit the button slightly ahead of time.

Needless to say, that's...not really the most pleasant way to play a rhythm game 😅

(1 edit)

Rhythm heaven fundamentally does not work with calibration. the visual and audio feedback of all minigames would essentially require turning back time if we wanted to implement offset unlike other games where the input can be easily changed or set late. We do eventually plan on implementing a custom audio engine a-la Bits & Bops to reduce latency to almost nothing, though.
