So far I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit. Here’s a few highlights, after playing v0.3.
The game is great at pulling your emotional strings. The intro song is beautiful, the creepy scene makes you feel uncomfortable, “I have a degree in Psychology and I couldn’t figure her out” makes you laugh, Natsumi accepting herself is heartwarming. It’s currently light on H content but I understand that it’s an early version.
I like the MC’s lack of self-control. It plays well with the VN genre, where the players themselves have such a weak control over the actions of the MC.
Is Nova a hallucination? Is she real? I love how well this plays with the protag’s issues.
The user interface is visually cluttered, and I feel like most buttons there could be merged. In my humble opinion, something like this would work well:
Visual indicator of the time of the day at the top right. Clicking it should skip time (so you don’t need to go to the bed for that.) It’s where most interface elements are.
Day of the week right below that indicator.
Map button right below the above. It would be great if its menu allowed you to go to a specific room/area of the uni/house, without relying on that bottom “window” to do so.
Quest button right below it.
“Engine” button below it. Clicking it would bring up a menu with the following tabs: settings; save game; load game; history, including a “memories” button; and the current contents of the lotus menu. Pressing Esc could bring this menu up, on the last tab, so you’d get more visibility for your links (“rate this game”, Discord channel, etc.) Keyboard shortcuts for each tab would be really nice.
“Back”, “auto” and “skip” buttons. Or dunno, they could be placed inside the menu above, they could be included into the “settings” tab of the menu proposed above.
This is based on playing the game from a computer but, if the mobile interface is similar, I believe that it would improve it too (since space is at premium on a phone screen). Specially because the art of the game is pretty, so the least amount of things between you and the art, the better.

After finishing 0.3.1 version, i didnt saw content with Hana in the Gym, i didnt saw content with Kaede on a beach which was on screnshoot, and i didnt saw "Free Mod" any "Mini games" and other stuff which you said about on "0.3 news" post. Did free version is cropped or i misunderstanding something ? Btw, 0.3.1 version have only 2 chapter. So its cropped version ? And full version of chapter 3 is about 0.3.9 ?
And, dont you thought about create account on boosty, so ppl could buy subscription from Russia or others countries under sanctions ? Ofc, if its worth it, otherway i will understand if u dont. Just wanna continue but cant subscribe on patreon :() Not toxic, just asking. Game amazing anyway, even if i didnt touch my pencil all time, its still like watching interesting anime. After one year of development, I had to make several changes to the game, one of them was writing a story more linear and interesting, the original idea was adding a bunch of events for each girl with every new update, leaving the player the possibility of exploring and rising their relationships with the girls at their own pace, and right now, I can't handle such amount of work for so many reasons, the most important one: I'm doing this game all alone, with extra help for specific tasks of course, but at the end of the day, all the work lays on my shoulders, so I had to bet for more story events in between of important events.
Now, the 0.3.1 version has the beginning of chapter 3 already, and I didn't cut any content, the only difference is that you can play the newest version being a Patreon member.
Sadly, I can not offer more payment methods right now because I don't want to risk the security and privacy of my future clients, nevertheless, if I find a good option, I'm adding it for sure.
And lastly, I can not sell the game on Itch.io. People think they are buying the full game with all future updates, and that's not true, that's why I can't offer the game here, I'm risking the game from being banned from the platform, and obviously, I don't want that.
I went to try the game because it's been on my collection for quite some time. And oh my Lord it's beautiful the events are perfectly timed and the darkness part really caught me of guard which made me think it's a horror game I hope the game gets the attention it deserves.

I absolutely love the story, but the "sandbox" seems to just add annoyance rather than any form of freedom. So far (as far as i could tell) the story seems to be just a direct line with no offshoots.
Its not really a sandbox when your option is "sleep", "aimlessly move around different locations with no interactions", or "go to objective". Also rather unimmersive in that i some how was 1 day off of the required day and just had to sleep for like 6 days straight. Maybe it is immersive though - would explain why the principal hates us so much when we dont show up to work for 4 days and actually on 4th day all we do is go meet someone at a location and leave...
My advice (if this is still how it works in the more current versions) would be to just drop the "sandbox" . It only serves currently to detract from the amazing story.
When Broken Dreams was a prototype it was focused more on a Sandbox experience and the plan was to add events for every girl, but when the game came out, with the good reception of the story, I opted for making a good story instead of content for each girl individually, so, this is a reality that I'm trying to fix, the 0.5 is focusing on trying to fix a few of these problems and adding little by little more life to the sandbox part, if in the end, I don't like the results, I'm gonna delete the sandbox part for a while.
It's sad for me because I wanted to maintain the sandbox to add more immersion to the story and I see it end up provoking the opposite effect on the players, but of course, I'm thinking of a solution.
You'd think this is just another sandbox/visual novel H Game, but it isn't. Heavily recommended to those who want a wholesome story, with the added of the genre.

I wouldnt call it wholesome. I know why you do - but it just feels wrong. Its more of a pseudo-horror story but with an arc of overcoming the suffering or past trauma.

This game made me forget this is a porn game,usually when you see a porn game your expectations for it is usually 0 when it comes to the story,like when you play a porn game it is usually just,you talk to the women,then few slides later,your raw dogging the characters,like you have sex with the characters without even knowing much about them.
However,broken dreams is nothing like that,in 0.1 you basically get to know more about the MC,which makes u kinda bond with him and understand him abit,then 0.2,you meet more characters,
You get to know each of the girls personality,which makes it more interesting and makes you bond with them as well,it also dosent rush the sex scenes or fan service scenes,in 0.3 it is focused on one character which is...||natsumi|| you get to know more about her past and why she behaves the way she currently is,and it also puts the mc's psychology skills to use,which at the end,makes it end well and kinda Wholesome as well. The graphics is also amazing.
The part where it ended when Natsumi finally felt like she was beautiful and accepted because of the mc was the cherry on top for finishing this version of the game, looking forward for the next update.

I love the game and I just became a $2 patron. The patreon says under each tier that all tiers will have access to the current version of the game, but when I click the link to download version 0.4, it prompts me to upgrade to the $15 tier. Am I missing something, or do only $15 patrons actually have access to the current version of the game? If this is the case, you should definitely indicate as much on your patreon since it currently says the opposite.
Oh, my apologies, when you create a Patreon page you need to add at least one reward for each tier, and I added the: "patrons are one update ahead of the public version" reward to every tier to be able to save all my changes, I'll check it out right now, I'm doing changes to my Patreon page due to the new update.
