I just completed the game.

I got the Maledictor then the Crusader which kicked the former out. I got the wish, I'm not even sure if the tome you get when killing an elite monster is random or fixed but if they are fixed then I missed at least the one for MAR, ended the game with ENC 20+20, WAN 20+20, EXP 20+10 and MAR 20. I'm not sure whether the ending sequence is a hint I missed some true ending or not, it's fine either way.

The game is fun. The art is great, the UI mostly feels good and the class roster is cool. The balance feels right, with the right lethality, the right power of levels and items, new characters can catch up with good equipment and they catch up just fast enough. The elite monsters are cool and these tomes of reawakening sure are satisfying rewards. Difficulty can be as you see fit depending on how you rush through the game and use the save system,

With saving everywhere I tend to end up bruteforcing a bit using reloads and this was no exception but that's on me, not on the game. Also I was never notably fan of enemies which wait for a trigger to move and have always preferred when all the ones which are on the map act from the start but that's a personal taste and it's not game-breaking.

Overall cool game, thanks for sharing.

I might check your other games some day. The next step is to combine freeform exploration and encounters on a grid, right ;-) ?

Hi CryptRat!

Thanks a lot for playing the game. I appreciate immensely you sharing your feedback with me (and that you found some things to like!)

It's always cool getting to know the final parties of those who have completed the game. I'm also "glad" they all differ a bit, even though it's clear some members are really too OP to not use them (ENC *cough, cough*) some others I thought wouldn't be as "popular" ended up being quite liked.

*SPOILER*The tome drops are pseudo-fixed so getting them all simply requires replaying areas (two possible for every elite enemy). As you pointed out, they are meant to be a nice reward rather than an absolute necessity (at least for the "main" route).

That sequence indeed hinted at a (S) ending (unless that's the one you got). I admit it was all made really vague, but you got the MAL so you were really on the right track, as the way to initiate it is pretty similar.*SPOILER*

Since the game relies a lot on RNG, not using saves/reloads will make it a *bit* harder at times... though at the very least I know of one person that made it through the end this way, so I'm happy both ways are still an option.

I learned quite a bit from your comment, so once again, thank you! It was really a pleasant surprise. And yeah... totally! If possible, I would like to keep trying any "new" way I can think of "simulating" exploration and encounters (and there would be some failures as well for sure, lol)! ^^

Still gotta play this (and your other games that aren't Heroic Tale VALUE!), but I'm glad it's completed! The engine used really sells that old CRPG feel you have for your games.

haha! Thanks a looot Seeks!! ^^ Glad you approve the overall look! Yeah, using it really helped to shape, let's say, the overall feeling I tried to aim for. Plus I took one of those long time things-to-do from my list, because I really wanted to explore the older engines, as you probably guessed. ^^
