WEEKLY UPDATE!! 2/19/23

This week I was ravaged with a bad flu that put me out of commissions on Tuesday and Wednesday. Chills, sore throat, low energy... Yeah, it was a rough week. My throat still feels itchy as I'm writing this. What kept me going was the joy I felt from having my game approved and ready for it's Steam release! For those of you unaware, the Steam version will release on March 3rd along with the updated walkthrough to go with it. With 5.1.2 done, I can finally begin jotting down some new maps.

While working on the last update, I realized how helpful it is to draw a map on paper before committing the map design to the game. I made this while I had some free time at work. It's a draft of the pirate ship dungeon, The Ruddy Raider:

Ah yes, scratch notes on paper is the quality content you expect to see from my updates! Still, there's ideas there I don't want to spoil, so they're hidden for now...

I do have a bit more that I want to share with you all today. I want to give you some insight on my creative process. Sometimes I have an idea of what a character is going to be like before I draw them, but other times, their personality will develop while I'm actually drawing different expressions on them (A good example of that is Rita from the Mummy quest).

Last week, I shared a preview of some of the new characters being added. At the time, I had only finished the flat colors. but the character of Edith really grew on me as I gave her different facial expressions. Here are some of her finalized looks.

She's going to be such a pompous brat! Writing for her is going to be fun!

One last thing before I go. I JUST finished this today and I didn't want to wait on sharing it. Here is the game's newest title screen, which displays after you begin the Vampire Route!

The moon glows with a blue hue, contrary to the game's other title screens. Could this be significant? Only time will tell...

That's all I have for you this week. Until next time everyone!

This game looks promising, and I can't wait to play it. The art alone is phenomenal.

I'm a huge vampire fan, to the point of making a large Morrowind mod myself (almost 80 quests, but I'm not posting any links or names here, as advertising isn't my goal, I gave this info, because I'm asking your for a specific permission).

Do you mind if I list your nickname as a source of inspiration (I swear I won't copy or plagiarize anything from your game, cross my heart and hope to die), you know, in the same way people list classical vampire games Castlevania, VTM, and even movies like Underworld, Fright Night, etc. as their source of inspiration?

So, it would be just that: listing you in the "thank you" section, as a source of inspiration? I do it a lot with other works, and I find it cool, because ppl can actually go and enjoy these games/movies and maybe feel compelled to do something themselves.

What exactly are you making thats being referenced as an inspiration?

For precise answer? Err, I'd say the lesbian vampire romance/bad ending part :P I saw your encounter design and artwork, then told myself: that is rather inspiring, more projects should do that.

So, there is 1 particular quest in the mod, a murder investigation which may lead player directly to the "evil" vampiress. If player is a female with right stats, she can be converted (instead of the standard bribe/fight option) to solve the conflict. That's it, nothing else.

As I said, it's a huge Morrowind (The Elder Scrolls 3) free mod with 80 quests, and I try to implement many cool vampire ideas. If you think it's appropriate for me to post a link, I could do that. Alternatively (and I'd rather do that), I could PM it to you, because I don't wish to use your comment section for advertising.

Yeah, shoot me an email.

this looks cool as always good luck with the vampire route and hope you get better health being sick sucks

I’m recovering now, thank you!

Ahh, nice! God-tier concepts scribbled onto paper. The best "quality-content" there is XP

I'm curious, is there a roadmap or something similar available? I thought, a few updates back, the game received its final story update - and everything is being smoothed for the impending Steam release. Yet - I see you happily sharing new areas, ideas and stuff. Which, to be crystal clear: Is frickin awesome! I can't seem to get enough of this world and it's characters (or more specifically, the allure of it all).

I would really like to know where CV is heading, in terms of gameplay areas. Hmm, maybe a more concrete visualization (like a roadmap, can be vague) would help my visual brain more ^^

Have a gr8 week y'all!

The next several updates are planned to flesh out the vampire route. I’ll be adding more sode quests, similar to the contract quests in the main route, though I don’t think there will be as many. The last update concluded the game’s main story, but I still have to finish the vampire route’s story.

Alright =) I think I got a general idea, thx for responding (again).

Will Edith be Vamp route, or Hunter route?

This is for the vampire route.
