Played this awhile back. Love it. It was just a nice relaxing game to play

Is the game name a homage to Yokohama kaidashi kikou, by any chance?

It is. I absolutely love that manga.

Absolute gem of a game. Best $2 spent. Over too soon.

I've just changed to the Quest 2 (having played it on the Index) and wondered if there any plans to Questifiy it? I guess that's a lot of rework if you've based it on the Steam dev kit?

Glad you enjoyed it! I don't plan on updating this game for other systems, but I do  plan on having the new game work for all the systems that are popular when it comes out.

Hey! How's development for Juniper Sky going? I've been looking forward to playing it ever since I played Elkan Tor about a year ago.

It's coming along fairly well. I have the story thought out, and did a bunch of coding in the spring. I have four levels done, but they really are mostly for introducing gameplay functionality and getting people into the world story wise.  I'm pretty happy with it so far and looking forward to people getting to play it.

That's good to hear. If you need any beta testing in the future, you can reply to this message anytime to get in touch. For the record, I have an Oculus Rift S.

A positive review of this game (in Spanish)

Spotted this on Steam yesterday but decided to buy it here. Lovely experience. The art is very cute and it looks gorgeous on a Valve Index. Solid performance too (some slight frame drops at 120 Hz, but 90 Hz ran perfectly on my 1080 Ti).

Some minor bugs/issues I encountered while playing the game:

  • The controller models looked like Vive controllers, but with a floating/intersecting Index controller layout (similar to joehonkie's screenshot below).
  • At some point, after opening one of the buildings (maybe the bakery, can't remember) it did not close fully, and I was unable to open it again. I tried to reproduce this bug with other buildings, but I couldn't find a way.
  • After clicking the fan, the found object notification remained visible whenever the building was open.
  • I did not find the tourist center monster's hints to be very helpful, and it was sometimes unclear whether he was simply rambling or actually directing me to look in a particular place. I did eventually find everything on my own, except for the neon sun (looked that one up on YouTube).

Overall, I enjoyed the game a lot, and it makes me want to play and create more hidden object games in VR. Looking forward to Under a Juniper Sky.

Thanks for the report on the bugs you found, I'll look into them. Probably can't help with the Index controller bug, since I don't own one of those. I'm actually pleasantly surprised it works on that at all.

For what it's worth, I'd be happy to assist with testing if you ever decide to add official Index support. But I can understand if you'd rather not get into it when you don't have one yourself.

Ah.  Ages ago I owed you a screenshot for some errors I was seeing.  I am getting back to you months (a year?) later with them as they exist in the current build.  I still LOVE THIS and am fully eager to give you another three bucks when it hits steam.  And I look forward to more interactive diorama fun.

Interesting! I wonder if that just happens on the Rift S. I have a regular Rift and I haven't seen this.
