From what I see, the Halloween event saves are completely different and unrelated to the main game saves, so will Belfasta not make any appearances in the main game? You should be clicking an .exe file, if you are already doing that, re-download cuz it sounds like a problem on your end considering I just downloaded 2 different versions and had no problem opening them

Do not load old saves. In new versions we have made "New Game +", where you can skip the quests you want.
New Year's event will be available soon in version 0.7.
