I assume you are doing something wrong. Problem can be pretty much anywhere. You must be experienced programmer before you jump on multiplayer. If you are beginner, then don't waste your time.
I mean the game is still in development, we don't really expect characters when there's only FOUR fully textured maps. It has been taken into consideration long ago. it's OneManArmy's game, he decides what and when to implement stuff. I don't know though, we might start seeing different characters in the future! :)
Like in any game online changes based on time of day. And for game to be "Live", it requires to spend money on advertising. Game is in development = it doesn't make any money, so there is no money to spend on advertising. If you want to see higher online, then record some gameplay videos and upload on youtube.

You are first and only one who has this problem. Join forum and create topic in bug reports. If more players will have this problem, then it will help understand where is problem. For now you can try to disable antivirus, or any other soft which can somehow modify incoming traffic.
Not that easy, you might have to use Terminal if you extracted using Archive Utility, instead extract using an app called "The Unarchiver". It's a free app on the App store and that should let you run the application in one go, no errors, however, you can always come ask in our discord server.
it's planned and i already wrote AI logic and tested over network. But at this moment zombie mode is not priority because it requires financial investment.

Echo, if for you textured maps are so important then this game is not for you.

for now only air strafing (without gaining speed) is enabled. Bhop mode will come with one of map editor updates.
