The mechanics for dodge are a little unclear. Do i make a dodge action on my active turn, and then gain the bonus the next time that unit is attacked?

Yes. That's correct. On your turn, you can use one of your actions to dodge. The next time someone attacks you, add +1d6 to your defense roll.

Technically, rules as written, you could use both actions on your turn to dodge and add 2d6 the next time you are attacked.

Hope this helps! Thanks for playing!

ok awesome, one more point of clarity if you don't minds. If i use an action to dodge, does that mean i add a d6 the next time any of my models are attacked, or only the that declared the dodge? And does the dodge bonus last until it is used?

Great work btw this is a really cool game

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words.

You add the d6 to defense only for the model that took the dodge action. The dodge bonus is used the next time that model is targeted by an attack, after which the model loses the dodge bonus (i.e., the model would need to retake the dodge action on a future activation to gain the defense bonus).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

So i playtested this game using a 1'x1' field (reducing the movement by 2" to compensate the smaller space).

Respect for so much "game" on such a limited "space"!

The game itself is nearly perfect. I just increased the cost for "manipulate time" cause it felt to powerful sometimes and added a modification for cover. But that's the beauty of a well made game. The rules are easy enough to tweak them.

Nonetheless there is complexity and interesting ideas to offer a lot of tactical gameplay!

A wonderful "small model count, big possibility-game"!
