StimuWrite 2.1 is faster, more stable, and compatible with more systems
StimuWrite 2 » Devlog
In preparation for the iOS and Android version of the app, StimuWrite has undergone code enhancements that improve performance, allow it to work on more computers, and makes it more stable. There are also bug fixes and a few small new features:
- Advanced option added to turn off typing sounds overlap, turn this off for even better performance on slow machines
- StimuWrite now remembers your last used background (turn off Auto Switch to Theme BG for this to work on all themes)
- On Mac and Linux the app checks with the itch.io server to see if there is an update available and notifies you when there is a new one
- GPU particles are now turned off by default for more stability
- Bug fix: Curly quotes no longer counted as words
I'm hoping to complete and release the Android tablet version before next month (NaNoWrimo!) which will first be released on itch.io as an unsigned apk you can side load on to your device. Google Play store version will come next. iOS development is not far behind, however the App store process may take awhile.
Thank you for being a user of StimuWrite and happy writing!

Hello! Is there a way for Grammarly to be used on StimuWrite?
Hi Alex! Unfortunately, I don't believe there is at this time. However, StimuWrite is meant for drafting instead of editing so you could use Grammarly in whatever word processor you export your text into.
I know this may feel like trying to please a crowd that can't make up its mind what it wants, but is there a way to turn off the "auto-switch to the previous settings" setting? I saw what you said before about it being a nice ritual to re-set the theme and background manually each time, and I kind of got comfortable using it that way. X3
Haha. I'll see what I can do!
Can't wait for the android version! I'm super excited to see how you'll implement it!
