any plans on going to stearm?

I have to say, from my current point of view I'm not happy with this and I can not recommend it. I bought the first season, because I didn't realize, how small the episodes really are and how many seasons are planned. Don't get me wrong, the writing is decent, the quality is good, but the pricing is through the roof. There are 30 episodes planned and I assume they will all cost 11$, which for me is a bit more than 12€. I also assume they will all be split up into chunks of 5, thus 6 seasons. That means 66$ or around 75€. There are AAA titles cheaper than that. And if this was some interwoven masterpiece, okay, but it seems the decisions you made are not really carried over between episodes. Not sure if the stats are maybe carried over, but if not this is pretty much a kinetic vn in the coat of a decision based one.

I think developers need to earn money. That's why I support other games (not sure if I'm allowed to name those, as that might be considered advertising them?) on Patreon and buy them when they intrigue me. But this one feels like too much for me. One of the reasons why I made the mistake of buying this, is because I  have a grasp on how much a game is worth and I just didn't think that the amount of content I got at the end could be what I was charged 11$ for. Just never crossed my mind. I thought I'd get like half a game for 11$ or rather the finished first season of a game, not a sixth of a game that is essentially in early access.

The misjudging of what is offered here is on me. There might be room for improvement, but I could have understood, what was offered here. I just want to appeal to the devs of this game to reconsider their pricing options and think of their game as a single game (because it is, although it's neither priced nor developed as a single game. But just one part of this game certainly doesn't feel like a complete game.) I get that this was a lot of work but in the end this is unreasonable pricing. And no, referring people to patreon is not an excuse. Just make sure people can buy(!) your whole game for a price that is comparable to similar games everywhere. Sure, make Patreon a cheaper option (and hope that people don't mind continuing the support), but don't let anyone pay 22$ for 20% of an unfinished game. That's just not right.

I'd happily change my comment to a positive recommendation for what is in it's essence a promising game, when I can expect to pay somewhere around 20-25$ max for the whole game here on itch.io, no matter how exactly the price model looks. But 66$ just won't cut it.

Thank you for your input and feedback. The Builder is a passion project, and the revenue is unfortunately insignificant, compared to the amount of work that goes into creating something on this level. The project has many flaws, but hopefully the qualities outnumber them.

The best pricing option for those who want to follow the development of the game is to head over to Patreon or SubescribeStar. By becoming a supporter there, you also gain access to the Discord server and can follow the weekly (and sometimes daily) updates.

I have considered creating a season 2 subscription package, so that you will get the whole season for one price, but I haven't had the time to set it up yet. It sounds from you feedback as that might be an idea.

Best,

I, too, could not get Mega to work for me....

Is there an alternative download link? Mega is whining at me about "transfer quotas exceeded," which I believe is formerly-free-web-service code for "we have forgotten how to do capitalism, please use one of our competitors until we remember."

Lol, yes, I will provide alternatives, but I'm in the middle of finishing the release of Ep7, which hopefully will happen before xmas. I'll tend to alternative hosting once that's ready.

yes

.

I just bought this and it wont download its saying file link unavailable

What platform are you trying to download for?

i bought this and still can't figure out how to get it to work please help

what platform are you on?

(+1)(-1)

For those that are curious it's pretty short for 11 bucks sadly maybe a hour or two long, if it was like half price I'd reccomend it or if it was bundled with all future content I'd say yes but as of right now too pricey for what you get.

Thank you for your feedback.

For a bit of background info, Season 1 is about two year's worth of work.

I can recommend the Patreon or Subescribestar pages for a better price option.

Are you going to release this game on Steam??

(+1)

Yes, but that is some months' work away.

(+1)

Thanks. I will be watching Steam for the announcement.

Thank you!

Thank you, I'm looking forward to it

Do I have to pay 11$ for both episode 6 AND season 1 , so 22$ in total?

yes, that's the situation right now. I might bundle them together on a later stage, but for now that's how it works here on itch. If you want another take on it - head over to the Patreon page.

Same here, I just payed for the episodes 1-5 . Do you really want me to pay  $ 11 again for episode 6

As mentioned earlier, becoming a Patreon is a better deal if you want to follow the story progressively.

Hello developers. I initially paid $10 to get the android version but failed to realize it was $11. I then made another purchase for $1 but i still cant access the android version. Is there anyway this can be fixed?

I've sent the dowload link to your email address

chr

quick question, will you release this on steam?? if not i'll buy it here eventually cuz it looks like the ultimate experience

(+1)

Thanks. The Steam release is at least 4 months away, as it seems now

I paid for the full season 1, and im having crazy trouble. The whole imagine starts to go black towards the end of act 2, leaving me unable to even close the game properly. Any suggestions to fix

What platform are you on? I know we have some trouble with the android release.

Other problems are usually fixed by deleting the save files (in the %Appdata% folder on win)

Re/Update: Im on PC version. and after 100 hours of youtube videos i figured out . . . im bad with computers : ' D . But also that is was a issue with my graphics driver, after solving that it played great.

With that being settled , Rock solid 8.275/10  playthrough  experience  :D

Happy you worked it out! Thanks for the rating :D

Will there ever be a public free android version or will android be paid only

Android is my biggest headache at the time, but I've noted your wish. If I manage to solve the build issues, it will be easy to port a version of the public Ep 1-3

(+1)

ok but take your time there is no rush just was curious

Hello, will the remaining episodes be ported on here as well? Ir will it always be the 11 bucks for it?

Hello, and thank you for your interest for The Builder. The best price option is to go over to the Patreon page and selectd a suitable tier. When your total support amount exceeds the price here, you get the latest updates directly.

Does this game have any animations? everytime i try and find a sfm type game, it's always just frozen images.

this game has a large number of animations, both the higher level 24 frames movie styles ones and the lower level "cruder" animations with 5 frames per second

so the free version is only up to ep 3? or does that move forward as the episode gets further and further?

(+1)(-1)

I've decided to freeze the public version at ep 1-3 for now because I'm working to get a Steam release of the game. This would hopefully increase the resources I can put into developing it - and thus be able to release episodes faster.

Why do we have to pay $11 for android when PC is free?

Its only episode 1-3 that is free for the pc. The full Season 1 is 11 as for the android version
