The weekly update has been released!
Yes, after long weeks of waiting, it's finally here! The Command... er, that is, the Combat and Conquer systems! Plus crafting, dungeon, supplies, skills... well, the list goes on! I'm really sorry it took so long, and I'm back to weekly updates now. I hope you enjoy! :)
PLEASE READ!
IF YOU ARE ON WINDOWS, LINUX OR MAC IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NO OVERWRITE THE OLD UPDATE WITH THE NEW ONE! JUST EXTRACT THIS UPDATE TO A BRAND NEW FOLDER AND PLAY! THE GAME WILL TRANSFER YOUR SAVE FILES FOR YOU!
KNOWN ISSUES:
Due to the necessity of changing the User Interface, there will be quite a bit of jank (Hana looks like she's been cut in half, for example) and some screens (such as the skill, inventory, fighter and crafting screens) haven't had a UI pass and look kinda janky. All this will be fixed in the next few updates, so please bear with me until then. Thank you!
CHANGELOG:
- COMBAT: It's here! It's finally here! You can now engage in combat in CK! Woo! Details below:
- COMBAT: Currently you can only attack CRESCENT HILLS on the War Map!
- COMBAT: You can choose to FIGHT, SEDUCE, use your POWERS, ITEMS or RUN (provided you're not fighting a boss-type character)
- COMBAT: Multiple FIGHT and SEDUCE skills to choose from, each with their own damage and special effect!
- COMBAT: Gather new skills and equip up to fifteen (six physical skills, six seduction skills and three powers)!
- COMBAT: Start with only one POWER slot and train to unlock more!
- COMBAT: POWERS are extremely powerful skills, but you can only assign up to three and only use them once per battle! So strategize wisely!
- COMBAT: You can fight SOLO, with SUPPORT or with a SQUAD!
- COMBAT: Squads will fight in the background, gaining or losing you morale which will give you buffs or debuffs!
- COMBAT: Choose which of the girls (or yourself!) you want to be a FRONTLINE or SUPPORT fighter!
- COMBAT: LEARN new skills by setting MC as SUPPORT and using unique skills with the FRONTLINE girls!
- COMBAT: Combat victory outcome will change depending on if you got a FIGHT VICTORY or a SEDUCTION VICTORY!
- COMBAT: ITEMs will drop after combat! Use them in battle or for certain events!
- COMBAT: Each enemy has their own AI "type" (Tank, Chemist, Seductress, etc.) and will behave differently to other AI types!
- COMBAT: Added a very basic battle tutorial. I'll likely refine this as time goes on, but it should be enough to get everyone up to speed
- CRAFTING: You can now order SUPPLIES! Talk to Hana, or use the notebook in the kitchen after training with Jessica
- CRAFTING: You can now CRAFT supplies! Use them in battle or for certain events!
- DUNGEON: The dungeon is back! You must have bought the DUNGEON upgrade in Act Two!
- DUNGEON: You can now "break" Boss Girls you capture (takes six attempts at most) to recruit them!
- DUNGEON: You can "roleplay" the "breaking" process with any Boss Girl you have recruited!
- WARDROBE: "Change Hairstyles" was removed and will be replaced with "Change Accessories" in a later update
- UI: Changed a bunch of UI elements, partially to accommodate changes to this version and partially to prepare for future update plans. These changes are not universal or necessarily permanent! They will shift constantly over the coming weeks
- UI: Trying a "deployable" thing with the top nav bar. Partially to regain some screen real estate and partially so that people can see the entire image when they click the "hide UI" hotkey. Not sure it works, so it might be reverted. We'll see
- UI: Moved the quick menu on Android to the top of the screen. Gotta free up that right hand, gentlemen!
- CHEAT: Added an "Add Dungeon to Manor" cheat to the laptop
- Bug: War erupts, but Gwen & Ami: Kid Detectives know that it's just a cover for the jam thief! I mean, look at this battlefield... jam everywhere!

how tf do i activate it
Various bugs seem to have occurred due to the current interface change. If you click on the interface and then click on the screen at high speed, it will load the game you recently saved or you will not be able to adjust the position of the interface in the settings. I'm not sure if this part was intended by the developers. Like the previous version, we want the options to be in the middle.
How do i update that game on Android
This is the most complete game I've ever seen of the genre. The story is interesting, you manage to turn your character into a villain or a hero, the animations are smooth and well optimized. And now, with this system of combat and conquest of territories, the game is even better.
the crippling addiction i got from this game at first made me force myself to quit it as soon as i got it out of my system, that was back in 1.13, so seeing how far this has gotten... i want to play it again... but i also dont...

whatever happened to the girl with the "sword" you meet when you first are introduced to veronica?
will there be a later option to recruit people to the manor via exploration like the summoner/summon?
is the submissive "stat" ever going to be expanded on given the new functionality of the dungeon?
in the UI for character profiles they have anal listed as a statistic, looking forward to this being added :)

I'm gad you're enjoying the game :) To answer your questions:
1. Sword Girl and Quiet Girl will return in Act Three, and their mysteries solved (if you maxed out college Authority)
2. Yup!
3. Possibly. It's a vestigial stat so I'll either build on it/rework it or drop it :P
4. There's a couple "subtle" anal scenes already but there will be a lot more in Act Three :)

Is there only one conquare at the moment?
As mentioned at the top of the changelog, there's only one conquerable location in 0.17.8 :) The new update, released in an hour, will add a second district and each update after that will continue to add more.
One thing I noticed that you might want to change is that when you are spying on the Rinkos once you have become Emperor, and you decide to leave them alone, there is still the line "There's no telling what Luna would do if her guards caught me…". I even Shattered her, so presumably the protagonist should not be worried about that anymore.
Also the line when looking around the East Hallway in the third act is the same as when you just add the upgrade to the manor and nobody is living there yet, which seems odd.

Excellent! I also remember coming across some other minor things before, but sadly I wasn't keeping track yet. However, since I think I want to wait with act III a bit until there's more content, I was thinking I would go through the first two acts again (and play a less cruel character and see how that changes things), and this time around if I'll come across anything, I will make a report. Probably just minor typos for the most part (and even those were quite rare!).
I'm new here; are the comments on these updates the best place to make these kinds of reports? EDIT: Never mind, became a patreon & joined the Discord, I see I can report things there :)

I don't know is this intended or not but sometime there are some line don't fit the screen. Example:
In the current version of the game yes, there is a way to get it,
How come the android downloads a zip file now instead of an apk?
Apk file in that zip file, just open it and instal the apk
if installation difficulties begin, then I recommend moving the apk file from the zip file along the path "download"
The best way to download the .zip file is to download it from a PC or laptop and extract it from there and transfer the apk to your Android.
Because Butler (the Itch uploader) does it randomly and nobody can figure out why.
I now have a good understanding of why this update took so long, and it was worth it. The combat is fun, the reward is... rewarding, the defeats are lesson-teaching, and there's a whole lot more to learn.😎

Though I do have to point out, whenever I click on the district on the war map (I'm playing on Android by the way), it does take the better part of a minute to load. Is that something that can be worked on?

The war map is just a basic imagemap so there's no reason in the world why there should be any slowdown. Perhaps try restarting your device (full power off and power down) or freeing up some storage space (or both) as it sounds like your phone is seizing up while it tries to shuffle memory around.

Where's the option to back,skip etc ?. Idk that one intended (temp/perm) or some bug, and these new UI looks really good so fresh but please add that back / skip option those absolutly help, also thank you for making such masterpiece game i've never known that Hgame got my emotion like roller coaster mixed with every aspect sad,anger and so on not just click to fuck games

The quick menu will only appear if you go to preferences and click on "Enable" under "Quick Menu". Although people have been reporting that it's not always working as intended so I'll be looking into fixing that in the next update.
So basically keep the old version and download the new version. Create a file and put the new version in the file and whatever save you have in the old version will transfer into the new version?

Yup! If you're on Windows, Mac or Linux you can delete the old game folder even before you download the new update - saves are recorded in two places as backup :)
Why is people talking about restartung the game? I haven't played in a while and i already restarted some time ago, rn im at the part after Gramps arrives so i could probably restart rn if i missed something important but just wanted to know before doing so, btw as like dumb as it may sound i love this game a lot it has made me really happy in the past so thank you to the developer/developers behind this.

I think a lot of people are restarting because they're coming back to the game after a long break and want to experience everything fresh again. Or, in some case, they've lost, damaged or deleted their save games. It's certainly not necessary to restart, but if people want to they I hope they enjoy playing through again!

Hey, does anyone know how exactly we are meant to start the combat? I have no clue, and I can't find any information
As mentioned at the top of the changelog: Crescent Hills (it's just to the right of the Manor on the war map) :)
If you have found Crescent Hills, but can't fight there, it's because you haven't talked to Jessica as your lead suggests. You can find her in the gardem.
If you don't even have access to the War Room yet then you need to find Jessica first. She can be found in the bathroom on WEDNESDAY MORNING and at the front door on SUNDAY AFTERNOON. The next update (next week) will add a lot more spawn locations to make her much easier to find.
