Humbaba + Master Bleed + Psychic Retort is OP. Use Master Bleed to convert into Blood Rage. You will insta-heal when being hit after building a few prayers worth of Blood Rage.
Damnit...Thought I was finally was gonna beat first cycle, but I guess I got a little overconfident, and died in the second to last room :'( (This build was heavily inspired by GlitchLuke's 'Molten Reaper')
A lot of it comes down to dealing with strong, late game monsters. Basic strategies are:
1. Have multiple defenses with damage that scales off those defenses.
2. Have massive speed, killing monsters before they can attack.
3. Have counter attack, combined with quick healing.
4. Hide behind summons while you scale up power.
Plan on how to quickly build up killing power. Meditate is good, but it's hard to build it up fast without hiding behind summons and/or slowing enemies (freeze, paralyze). Charge is great, and you can build up speed with killing power. In Flame works well with melee builds, and synergizes with several equip pieces. Repulsion can build power and potentially all three defenses.
Some of those builds don't apply the same now, because of changes and updates. The principle is the same. It's basically a math puzzle, with a little skill and luck. I have obviously cracked out on this game a bit. Enjoy your journey. I look forward to seeing your posted builds.
This is pretty good for only ally kills. Still think innervation and invigoration are under-powered, but I guess they can synergize with other abilities. Held weapons were pointless. It's all or nothing, don't think that you will actually stand against late-game enemies if they reach you.
This one is fun, a bit of a puzzle to solve. You have to balance using prayers or triggering Divine Intervention. It came down to the wire vs KoMC, but Div Int kicked in on his last attack and I blasted him with everything including the kitchen sink! The sash was pointless (Tamasa clears all non-charge effects), but I didn't see any other torso threads that excited me.
KoMC started in my face, so I couldn't power up allies. Not sure if we could have beat him. I don't think its possible to win with only allies killing enemies. A few more tries and I will give up on the concept.
Activate game-turn effects x3 on stand-still. Got a little dicey towards the end. The only problem is that speed is limited to 5, so fast, powerful end-game opponents get a lot of shots at you before you can build up steam. Mid-game I was rocking 10k+ dodge, 20+ armor and 40k+ block.

so with what you have, I'd go pyromaniac, and try to get the flame scythe, it'd be described as a glittering orange blade
Yeah I was looking but never found one in that run
I did manage to beat first cycle with a psiblade build shortly after this though!

I'm still trying to figure this game out, but it has such a charm in its simplicity, I really like it.

Aurora Chant is not scaling up meditation applied to 3x skill level, only 1x skill.

Greased Lightning
Be careful with Mask of Frenzy. Fires off continuous attacks until enemy is dead, but you might die first to KoMC. Stock up on Life.
