How to stay in 3d mode. I made this video because everyone is having a hard time of beating this mode. Also forgive me if you've seen me before. I really love this game, also I will be waiting for the full release.
Obviously this game is overflowing with charm and I was drawn to it!! Extremely adorable character designs, great music, and a great homage to PaRappa. But some game play was a little frustrating:
Is it just me? It's really hard to tell what's going to be next with the faster paced portions when you have to respond to the inputs immediately, especially when playing the level for the first time. Maybe some sort of queue system can be added to see what's next if you're not repeating something? Freestyling was my saving grace, though I can't consistently get that right either. I had recalibrated to what looked right to me as well.
Continuing from above about difficulty, is it also just me, or are the scratch commands too fast as well? I tried both a gamepad (I use a generic Xbox style controller) and keyboard, and the gamepad felt better. It's fine when they're not too close together of course, but with both the joystick and d-pad, I get penalized for incorrect inputs when I try to go too fast. These sections made me fail levels 10s of times. They weren't satisfying and I felt myself scraping by. Maybe it's just me though.
Visibility. It took multiple play-throughs of some levels to notice that I was completely missing some cues. Something to do with the button cues being transparent, plus the bar background being transparent, plus the actual level environment having a pattern? Maybe increase the transparency of the button prompts on the bar if not the whole bar UI? (This would be a great accessibility option in the future!)
Other stuff I noticed:
When you recalibrate in story mode overworld, it restarts the story from the beginning tutorial. It remembered my progress with me opening the music box, but I still had to go through the opening cutscenes again.
When paused in the middle of a battle, if you go into the options menu and press start again, the battle will continue with the options menu still up.
It's kinda sad that a lot of the comments here are unrelated memes instead of constructive criticism (although there are a lot of positive comments too!) and I'm also aware this is still a demo, but I hope this helps!! I am really looking forward to how it develops and I can feel the heart and passion oozing out of this project, and it's incredible to be able to make a game like this by yourself. Best wishes.

it is not my brightness level i checked obs ( a recording platform) and it looked perfectly normal, but when I play it its super saturated and hurts my eyes.
yes. At the part where Jamtine has a rival battle with Melodii, Mellodii says that baking cookies was how their mom and dad fell in love until they had Melodii. which does mean they have a dad but their parents most likely got divorced
so it like comes in a zip folder u extract it and then u open the extracted folder then you just open the "Scratchin' Melodii - SAGE 2022 Demo" (also labeled as application on the side so you'll prolly know which to open)
you can either play it like that OR you can add it to the library of ur steam before you play it (idk what difference does adding it to steam makes but its cool to add it in)
This is overall a really good game demo, but I have experienced a lag. When I am about to play a line, the NPC just lays out the actions at the beginning of their line, which leaves me hanging with no actions to do.
the game looks alright and im absolutely in love with it!! although maybe it's just my low end pc or it's the game but I've been trying alot now and i still can't get past the first rival battle since the loadinf screen just takes forever to load :(
i tried to play it on another pc (which i believe is high end) and still it doesn't let me play
maybe it's the file size that keeps beating up my pc but anyways i really love the game!! good job :D
I'm having trouble playing with a Switch controller, I have it connected to my laptop wirelessly, and the inputs show up in settings, but my button presses aren't doing anything on my laptop
Edit: Nevermind, I connected my Xbox controller to my laptop and it works fine.
Not sure if I did something wrong but when I try to play with my xbox controller the A button pauses the game instead of playing the note, and when I followed the description and added it to my steam library the controller stopped working altogether.
Too late, but it could be because you configured your control in Steam and you still have it open, to solve this make sure that Steam is closed completely, for that you have to close it making sure that it is not open in the background, for example from the task manager , and if it still doesn't work, disconnect it and reconnect it
as far as i know each bar of inputs has a certain amount of style you can get for freestyle inputs, each input being worth a different amount, you gotta fill the style bar for each bar using any combination that fills the style bar (top left of screen, right bar) for the 3D section anyway
Dunno if this is a known bug but thought id mention it. Somehow the game corrupted my save data and there is no way to delete that save data in game. It instead makes most menu buttons not work, and if you try to play a song in practice, it boots the song but doesnt work. Unsure how my save data got corrupted in the first place but its probably worth finding a way to delete/restore corrupt save data so the game doesnt suddenly become unplayable.
btw issue is fixed once you delete all save data from the file

In the settings there’s an option to wipe your save. Forget which tab it’s under, but you’ll find it if you look.
It doesn't work for me, after i restart the game.

I'm having a similar issue. Though I'm using a Dualshock 4 so I needed to add it to steam. Once I did, it worked fine but X also pauses the game.
Dude DO NOT use steam it disrupts the game.
