The Future of Among Us
Hey everyone, PuffballsUnited here! It’s been a very exciting time for us the past few months! We’ve absolutely loved seeing everyone enjoying Among Us! Forte has been working hard to get the servers adjusted to deal with the huge influx of players. Thank you so much for bearing with us through these growing pains. Hopefully we can get started on new content soon! Speaking of new content…
Us devs have had several long discussions about what we want to do with the game. When do we stop working on Among Us 1? What content goes into Among Us 2? The main reason we are shooting for a sequel is because the codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content. However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead put all our focus into improving Among Us 1. All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing!
Here’s some things that are coming on the horizon:
* Servers. Forte is still working very hard to figure out our server issues. We don’t have an ETA but things should hopefully be getting better and better. This is taking up all development time on his end.
* Colorblind support. It’s something we’ve put off for way too long… We plan on adding other identifiers for players as well as certain color focused tasks (Like wires). This should also open the potential for more colors. In the past we couldn’t add more colors because it became too difficult to tell players apart.
* Friends/Account System. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time but just haven’t been able to tackle. For the health of the game going forward we’re going to sink our teeth in and figure it out! This one will definitely take some time.
* A new stage! It is still very early and we have only just begun designing the layout. The theme has been settled on though! The next stage in Among Us is going to be a Henry Stickmin themed location!
We have LOTS of other things planned too, we just need to prioritize and organize all our plans. Stay tuned!

Can you aslo higher the chances of being imposter. It would be really cool if there was mini-games in the lobby too.
you cant just raise the chance of being impostor lol, the chances are random each round that it will be any one person, its like spinning a wheel.
I would really like some new hats and some free pets and outfits. That would make lots of people happy. also adding friends would be fun.It would also be cool if there wasn't only crewmates and impostors maybe make other game modes like 10 impostors vs each other , Or maybe add one thats practice for doing tasks like a race to see who gets there tasks done first or something. Also it would be cool if you could find new people for Among Us like police for Among Us if theirs a hacker they join the game and kick them out.Also try to get people to help with Among Us. Lots of people would like to work on it they would have lots of fun. Being a person who works on a super popular game would be a dream come true. One last few things maybe make it so impostors can do tasks so they cant fake it. Also it would be cool to add more tasks more in the game . i have only had tasks in med bay and COMs once or twice because there is none in there .in Among Us. Also make it funner for the ghosts and me and my brother play this game together and we agreed that it would be cool if there was a private chat for impostors to talk. And more maps would be really cool.Also it would be cool if you didn't have to press a button to kill someone maybe you could double tap then someone is murdered. Also it would be cool if the pets had more uses like they could help you in some way like maybe the WALL-E could see through walls to see a dead body or something. And it would be cool if you had like a shield that could protect you from being killed for 30 sec or something. I don't know i feel like if you want more people to play and spend money then you should use all your brain power.I think it would be a lot more fun experience if you couldn't leave when you join a round and you aren't imp its just no fair for the impostors

It would be kinda nice if you could make lobbies where people have to solve like 3 basic math/logic puzzles to join so tiny tots and super impatient people don't join and then subsequently leave when they aren't the imposter and ruin the round.
Hopefully that will be at least partially discouraged by the reporting feature they mentioned they are working on (according to the in-game announcement that was posted a few days ago, which links here)
nonetheless, if the issue persists that's not a bad idea...

so you want another free game and not give the developers the money they need to make it a better game? they already cancelled among us 2 in favor of improving upon this game (sadly). id gladly pay for among us 2 if it didnt get cancelled because i want to put money toward ppl making amazing games like this. and in conclusion, it would be free on mobile anyway and only $5-10 on steam? come on you dont gotta be rich to give up a couple mcdonalds meals for an excellent video game.
Free2play means an ad supported mobile game should be fine. Also here in India, 5$ is enough to get three square meals for two and a half days (I agree it's still not very expensive).

innersloth is trying their best. its not their fault there are hackers ruining the game. just try to enjoy the game fn, because im sure in the future the game will be fully hack-resistant

I'd imagine that mitigating hackers is low-priority for the devs. You have to realize that there are only a few devs that are working on the game and the fixes that they laid out above are their top priority.
I've played games where I didn't get imposter for hours. Other games I've gotten it so many times I won the game because nobody believed it could be me. That said, the balancing works IMO. Some players (like me) prefer to not be the imposter, while others would rather be "it."
If hackers are ruining the game for you, try Googling some discord chats or creating your own. That way you can play/create private lobbies where hackers rarely (if ever) exist.

Agreed on that last point; that's what I did. I have a few social groups and in so I just pulled a bunch of people I know from those into a group DM. It's been working out so far

Hey. Loving the game. I just have a simple, maybe a bit stupid question for the community.
WHY do people actually hack Among Us if there isnt leveling up or experience system. No unlockables. No leaderboard.

People enjoy the game. HELP DEVELOPERS AND DONT HACK, because you dont help the developers actually make new content, your just postponing some exciting updates.
Many players also hope for more than 10 players in 1 room.

A problem that I've seen is that #1 people leave too much and that's bad it makes the game boring and easy to win if you are impostor #2 Constantly if I am playing the game A message would pop up saying that I haven't installed the latest update yet but i have checked numerous times and the screen showed I didn't need to update it so fix that and this game will skyrocket more
hopefully the report system will discourage people from leaving without a good reason. That's toxic and selfish just like hacking, just not to the same degree. In the meantime just try and find some people, maybe through the Innersloth discord, that you can count on to play fair consistently, then add them as friends and invite them to a DM group. I did something similar, and it's been working out okay so far.
Basically, if the problem is that anyone can join, eliminate the factor that anyone can join. Easier said than done I know, but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the problem is you assumed it was meant as an advertisement (just because I suggest adding random people doesn't mean I want any in my own group). It wasn't. I only mentioned it because it was relevant to the topic of moderating the game, not because I expected or wanted anyone to join.
