The Future of Among Us
Hey everyone, PuffballsUnited here! It’s been a very exciting time for us the past few months! We’ve absolutely loved seeing everyone enjoying Among Us! Forte has been working hard to get the servers adjusted to deal with the huge influx of players. Thank you so much for bearing with us through these growing pains. Hopefully we can get started on new content soon! Speaking of new content…
Us devs have had several long discussions about what we want to do with the game. When do we stop working on Among Us 1? What content goes into Among Us 2? The main reason we are shooting for a sequel is because the codebase of Among Us 1 is so outdated and not built to support adding so much new content. However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead put all our focus into improving Among Us 1. All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing!
Here’s some things that are coming on the horizon:
* Servers. Forte is still working very hard to figure out our server issues. We don’t have an ETA but things should hopefully be getting better and better. This is taking up all development time on his end.
* Colorblind support. It’s something we’ve put off for way too long… We plan on adding other identifiers for players as well as certain color focused tasks (Like wires). This should also open the potential for more colors. In the past we couldn’t add more colors because it became too difficult to tell players apart.
* Friends/Account System. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time but just haven’t been able to tackle. For the health of the game going forward we’re going to sink our teeth in and figure it out! This one will definitely take some time.
* A new stage! It is still very early and we have only just begun designing the layout. The theme has been settled on though! The next stage in Among Us is going to be a Henry Stickmin themed location!
We have LOTS of other things planned too, we just need to prioritize and organize all our plans. Stay tuned!

This just happened to me a few rounds ago, a hacker joined a game and everything turned black, i thought the game was about to start but then i could still see the characters and this hacker spammed the same message "Subscribe to Eris Loris"

There is a hacker who when he joins everything turns black and only the character is seen and in the chat he says subscribe to Eris Loris and then he begins to expel people little by little until he expels you.
Yeah this happens A LOT. I might be wrong but I think it’s just a glitch because of them working on Among Us.
why does it say inappropriate name every time I try to join or create a with no name

Hacker Alert! Ok so every server I log on a person(hacker) logs on and says something like this. your mad I’m back, sub to Ellison, vote trump 2020. And then the screen goes black! It’s made it really hard to play

the Sam guy that hack every sever keep hacking it only show black screen but some severs work when ever I do my sever he keeps come in even if you band him he still cam back

This has happened to me so many times today and yesterday, and then I’m banned for hacking. I’ve seen multiple copies of a player, and people outside of the map/stuck on the wall and can’t get off. I legit started playing 3 days ago and I have no idea on what’s going on. Can someone help, maybe?
Quick update, majority of games I join do this, and the rest are severely glitched out, and I’m not the only one in game that it’s affecting. I can’t seem to find anything on it, though.
I have had this issue today as well today. Then I try to get into a different game, and the screen is black only seeing people and chat.

When I was playing like a week ago, I joined and it was just a black screen with my character in the middle, I could not move or anything! I immediately left the game I was in.
OH that one yeah it happens on EU too it freaks me out sometimes

Voice chat would be very nice. I agree with some other users saying it has its downfalls, but here's my input;
You can choose your language. Therefor language shouldn't be a issue. I also believe you should have your own deafen/mute for a user if they're doing something wrong (saying swear words n stuff if you don't like it), or the server creator can have their own deafen/mute for a user.
I also, however, believe there should be a option in the Server Settings to where you can enable/disable voice chat.
Yeah but how would you be able to meaningfully play with some people muted?
Furthermore, there are many languages in this game but they are still a minority of world languages. My language, for example, has 60+ million native speakers and yet it's not in the list.
Voice chat is usually messy, unintelligible for non-native speakers, more toxic and abusive than text chat, difficult to follow with 10 players and actually out-of-context with this game style. Please keep the chat as it is.

I think they must add voice chat and when person creates room he can choose voice chat on, off, for example, only chat, chat and voice chat, only voice chat.
You said that you want more game modes so what about letting players create the game modes like overwatch workshop youc can create and you can also explore
u should be able to report players if they are hacking it would also be cool if u could add voice chat also u should ban people for 30 minutes if they keep leaving games cause they are not imposter
Everything you said makes sense but voice chat is ugly and tough for non-native speakers, please keep the text chat instead, it's so much nicer.
