Is it actually a virus or is it a false positive can anybody check?

This is release from a relatively well known creator, I would say it’s highly unlikely it’s infected with a virus. Typically virus scans will have false positives, so you should take that into account when deciding to trust a creator.

Personally I don't think malware reports should be done on a public forum. The fear for malware has already caused people to do strange things based on false public reports based on false positives by anti-virus-software.
Yet a good thing it's cleared up with a Virus Total result.
