Haha, that was fun! I love this music and the sound effects and the visuals and animations! It’s just a little uncommon having health and never being hit at all, but no problems there, it is very satisfying just slashing through everything =P
For some reason, I can only hear the game audio on my left speaker…
My best score was reaching level 19 🐉
Thank you so much :)
I set the hit points to just emphasize the "growth" theme. It starts at 12 hp at level 1 and reachs 4000+ hp in just 75 seconds. Also I learned but couldn't find a fix to the audio output.
Hmm, maybe something with regards to positioning and AudioStreamPlayer2D? Or the audio assets only have the left channel?
It’s tough, in programming/game dev bugs could be pretty much anywhere xP
Huh, true... audiostreamplayer2d get the sound according to the position of the node... (I need to check if that's the problem :D )
Yes, this was the problem. Thanks for pointing out. I fixed it and will put a post jam version when it's ready :)
That's a cool game. Keep Ctrl pressed (auto-fire) and move around obliterating everything.
Glad you enjoyed cutting up those vines :)
Very cute story! Neat game design! I laughed hard seeing those friends hiding on corners, doing nothing! Very well game given this short period of time!
Thank you so much :)
Also about those cowering adventurers, at least they didn't try to get themselves killed unlike your cats :D
Loved the feel of it, would be cool to have some more impact tho when you hit the enemies but the effect is really dope. congrats ^^
Thank you, will keep that in mind next time :)
Cool game! looks great and I liked the slash animation. Also loved all the text for the other people in the pub, super funny. My only change would be to have an alternate key for slashing other than ctrl for us people playing on Mac >.<
Learned about that problem after I posted my game, will not happen again ><
Wow! For being your first jam you did a really good job! Congratulations!
Thank you so much :)
I'm setting off to kill that red dragon, the battle will make quite a tail indeed but hopefully it won't dragon too long.
Loved the fast gameplay and the puns, well done!
Thank you! Considering how fast you became level 19, I would recommend world domination after killing that dragon. :)
Nice fast paced game with good looking pixel art. Felt really powerful slashing through all those vines. Would have been nice to see other enemy variants and enemies that attack or stun the player.
Everyone seems to have enjoyed the game so far, I might do an improved version after the jam with more content :)
The pixel art is top notch! I like too the slash sound and the overall humor of the game. I can kill a black dragon, I hope that's enough to move on. Good job!
I didn't draw the pixel art myself, they honor belongs to "Calciumtrice" and "Kronovi". I did the sword effect myself though.
black dragon(lvl17) is pretty good but some can consistently get up to red dragon(lvl19). I managed to get up to tarasque(lvl20) in a few occasions when its a lucky spawn.
Nice game but there’s not much threat as you can spam the attack to mow down the enemies before they get to attack you. But I had a blast for couple of runs and could kill a red dragon! Good job.
They don't actually attack at all, the game is more about slashing as many in the given time frame. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Oh okay. I thought they would attack since there is health bar. :D
I really doubt we should worry about lvl1 vines hurting us when we get to 4000hp in 75 seconds :D
You make a very fun game!
The animation of the slash atack is so fluid (i think you have some work with it), the controls are very responsible and the music combine too much with this game.
The cutscene realy makes difference, the plot is solid and good.
Congrats man, it's realy a good game!
Thank you! Glad you had fun :)
I see slashing i am happy :)
Very well done
Thank you! :)
I think this is one of the most satisfying slashing games I've ever played! Well done! I don't feel such fulfilment even when cleaning weeds in the garden and then setting them ablaze.
Great work!
also: Hehe punz
Thank you for your kind words :)
I liked the puns from the mage. Nice game!
Thank you! :)
Btw do you mean the potato wizard or the pyromaniac sorcerer? :)
Oh my goodness such a beautiful game. Silky animation & effects, fantastic art. I can tell you took the time to get this right. The controls are responsive. Music fits perfectly. Also the title is hilarious as well as the caption puns
Thank you! I spent the last 3-4 days of my game with polishing and I'm glad it can be seen :)
Very nice, loved the sprites.
I didn't get attacked or lost health in any way can the vines attack and I'm just that good?
Congratulations.
Yes, you are that good :D joke aside, the HP and damage is for the feeling of progression nothing more :) The vines are all dummies to be slashed
Played It Here! 20:00
Thank you :) btw holding the ctrl pressed actually has a different animation and could be easier than spamming (easier on the fingers too)
I'll def keep that in mind for my next playthrough haha
Black Dragon! Very awesome game 10/10
Thank you! :)
Very addicting.
The music started playing in one ear after the first time I finished, while the other sound effects were normal.
This is my first game jam entry and my first html5 port so I don't know how to fix the sound issues yet. Will try to find a solution for my next one.
Super fun gameplay, and I really liked the artwork, the animations, and the small details!
One note though, using CTRL + arrow on a mac is a shortcut to switch to a virtual desktop, so it made this a bit hard to play – I had to disable the shortcut!
Glad you liked the game :) never used a mac so had no idea about the short cut, will keep in mind next time. I wonder if I can submit a remapped control version (arrows and z key maybe?)
