New Build INFO! Sammy Integration Upgrade!


Greetings!

We have some very good news for you all today in regards to progress on In Heat! 

On the programming side, the Unity build has already caught up to the equivalent functionality in the First Nights prequel made in Unreal Engine 5. Unity has proven to provide a huge boost in production speed, despite its recent shortcomings.

Gameplay wise, all the girls had a few changes and additions to their behavior in order to spice things up. So let's talk a bit about the major changes and updates that you will be seeing in this definitive build.

In previous builds, Sammy had the ability to steal your stress toy. While this is an adequate idea, we felt her participation in each night could be even more involved.

Her new integration prevents all usage of camera systems and doors, as she sneaks into your room and blocks your reach with the whole of her presence. As you can probably tell, this is a rather high impact ability. Which is suitable for our mascot character.

Poppi's gameplay mechanic, where she casually drops a bomb in your room every now and then, has received some extra flair and polish both to how it works and how it looks, while remaining the same in how to survive it.

Additionally, our queen Nile has had a major update to her gameplay. While originally she had a somewhat functional hypnosis mini game and a simpler mechanic in the prequel, we decided to combine her newest behavior with more of her personality into her gameplay.

We think you'll like the polish on her, so do pay attention to her when in the cameras. If you want to keep them, that is.

Maddie's also received her own update, providing more of her MASSIVE personality and charming company to the player, whether you want it or not!

You'll get to know more about the girls and how they work in updates to come.

Why is Poppi literally trying to kill you? Where does she get the bombs from anyways?

How can Nile control your cams, how can Sammy steal your plushie without being even in the room, a lot of questions with only one answer : Coming Soon

The 5 nights are way too short and easy, I clearly couldn't see all of the features in the update unfortunately

i cant beat night 5 because my power just randopmly dissapears even when im not using it

You have unlimited power. You just have to do mini missions to keep the power on. (Turning that valve in the pump room, picking up the trash can that's riding around, and pressing the buttons and flipping the power switch) all of these mini missions are done in the camera in different rooms and you can tell how the mission situation is from the color of the weird light hanging in the office. It goes from green(0 things needed done) to yellow(1 thing needed done) to red(two things needed done) and purple (All three mini missions needed to be done) and once it hits purple as far as I can tell you have a certain amount of time before the power cuts off and you lose.

Ok, so as I understood, the game is back to basically the roots compared to the 0.75 because they changed the engine and they have to slowly but surely transfer all of their work back, this is why the game seems backwarded. Am I right?

Awesome job. You guys are running circles around Fatal Fire Studios when it comes to a spooky yet fun, oversexualized FNAF spoof. You've always gone with building and maintaining entertaining gameplay and have allowed the story to grow in a fun and organic way. The other side seems more interested in trolling their supporters expanded cutscenes at the expense of having a game that actually works. Kudos.

I am very glad that progress is going well. I got a little impatient and bought the game from here instead of steam but what differences are their in the changing of engines? and is the current mode similar to the steam demo?

All in all keep up the good work and looking foward to more updates. Love your guys work on this game!

Its cool to see how the games coming along! Y'all are doing a really good job, and expanding on the characters and their actions is a great idea! Does this mean that Nile will have more hypno-related stuff goin on in future builds? I know its a little niche, but with the hypnosis being a decent part of her repertoire it felt lacking in her old tapes.

I had no idea y’all were making the game in Unity as well! Kinda bad timing with the whole Unity kneecapping itself but hey, looking forward to what you guys put out regardless! I’ve been in the community since way back before Misty was added to the UE4 version of the game and it’s awesome to see the progress you guys have made since then. Keep it up!

I didn't even know the bomb was Poppi! And I have never managed to disarm the bomb. I think I was winding the wrong way. I don't think Ari was in the game yet when Sammy COULD steal your stress toy. So whether  intentionally or not, we dodged the Sammy x Ari wombo combo. If I remember right, if Sammy got the stress toy 3 times, it just disappeared... or at least I couldn't find it... The only one I'm worried about is Maddie. If she only falls for the microwave a limited number of times, which I vaguely remember being the case, she dictates whether you have a chance to win the night at all by her RNG movements. Some of her locations are 100% harmless so she has no presence that night if you leave her there. Other locations are devastating and if you run out of chances to convince her to move on an important screen, she's planted and you just lose. Tough balancing act for her role.

Maddy is legit the most difficult character to deal with in the testing builds!
