So i just bought the most recent update and my PC is picking up a trojan in your zip folder, what is this about? i've read through and saw it's ren'py being classed as a trojan but this just doesn't seem right, it won't even let me install it because it classes it as severe, I don't really want to refund the game but the way this is going it might be so
As it was said before - Goodbye Eternity doesn't contain any viruses, we are on Itch.io after all. So, for now you can simply ''allow'' the conflicting file in your antivirus.
But anyway, this issue will be gone in the future.

Yeah AV is usually very overprotective of some unfamiliar programs like this. But it's definitely a lot better to be overprotective than "underprotective"

If you are on PC or Mac, when extracting the game you need to extract it into a fresh folder. Extracting the 0.6.91 into an older game install will make the game crash.
Only two vendors detect this as a “virus”. This is due to the version of Ren’Py used in the game being pretty recent, so it is a fairly unknown executable at this point. So vendors mark it as being a virus, even though it does not have any sort of malicious code within it. It is a false positive, which has happened to new versions of Ren’Py for over a decade.

weird, came here to complain about an install being borky. redownloaded 'cause the error said the data was corrupt and shock horror, it resolved the problem!
downloaded the 6.91 update a few days ago, unpacked via 7zip, got an error about game/data. solution: download the game again and try again.
no idea if the above information helps anyone, but there ya go
when you unzip the game you have to do it in a brand new folder, you must not overwrite the old installation otherwise you will have strong chances to have errors

Judging by the folder name, I guess you must have extracted 0.6.91 onto an already existing 0.6.2. This doesn’t work, you have to extract the 0.6.91 in a fresh folder :)
Don’t worry, your saves are saved in the appdata folder, so even if you delete the 0.6.2 folder you’ll still have them.
Hahahaha god this is funny just read the comments again I'm a big fan of this game so I appreciate what the devs have created also I might say I have PTSD of it but I don't hate that "genre" I'm neutral about it I'm not trying to start a fight just commenting again I really like this game the animations and art style are my favourite I would support the patreon If I had money good job devs on making a wonderful game can't wait for more story content also sorry for all the people I offended I really wasn't trying to start a fight sorry again

i was having the same problem i just set my AV to allow whatever virus it thought it was and it worked after

what's the difference in the demo and the full the game
The free(demo) version is always one major update behind.
Major updates add - A new story path for one of the characters, ''animations'' related to that path, new locations, etc.
In the demo - the last path added was - Yasuka's Love path.(0.5.9)
But in the latest version, you can already select Yasuka's Corruption path.(0.6.91)
So, right after the new major version(0.7) got released - Yasuka's Corruption path will be available for everyone.

Why i can't use cheat code?
I just updated 0.6.9 on macOS and the game won't load. I just get a text edit saying an "uncaught exception occurred".
I'm unsure how to proceed.

it's neither of those issues. the game essentially won't open for me now. i get a traceback.txt report and the game force quits.
