I was doing a very very similar game to this with the same name even for a month now and I discover this now...
It is an NES game where you race with 3 different cars and need to stop at a pitstop to refuel and change tires from time to time and win a race.
I already have all the artwork done and now I need to program and it will be playable on an NES emulator or if you flash it onto an NES cart you can play it on original hardware but still it is really similar to your game and now I am considering if I will continue it.
Just saw this, you should definitely continue it! There's always something to innovate on, always something to change a little bit. Creativity is all about taking what exists and putting a different twist to it.
It's okay if it's been done before, just look at what such games do and don't do well and you will make an interesting game. That's the beauty of game design.
