Oh wow, thank you so much for the review, it was a nice surprise! I’m glad you enjoyed the game (what little there is of it anyway XD)

I was kicking myself when you mentioned the skip function breezing past the choices, though! That was something I meant to fix back during the game jam and I just never got around to it RIP. I decided to upload a new build where that should (hopefully) no longer be a problem for the next person to play this.

b'awww as long as you have cake that should be fine

Yooooo thanks so much for making another playthrough of one of my games, I enjoyed watching your thoughts on it! I noticed a small coding error I did while you were playing with the checklist DX I will fix shortly!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

One thing I'm realizing is I need to make it much clearer when the things you did earlier lock you into an ending.  There's supposed to be 3 endings for getting off at the right stop, then 2 for getting off at the wrong stop (which is decided by if you're listening on the bus ride or not.) Which ending you get depends on if you choose to use phone mode or not at the stop when it gives you the option, but if you behave in certain ways in the school segment,  it will lock you into a particular ending and you won't actually be given the option. So I need to make sure to communicate that in the game somehow, as well as what choices in the school segment are doing the locking-in...

I assume you mean the character if you get off at the right stop? but actually no! My original intention was that he's been mistaken for being mentally ill as a result of supernatural occurrences. I suppose I'll also need to make that clearer through the dialogue or actions of the characters, though I'm  also hoping it's clearer if you get all the endings. It is a tricky fish, though.  I'd love to see more games portray this condition in a more realistic or grounded way, with characters suffering the disorder being alongside "real" horrors rather than being the primary source of them.

Yeaah I put off the sound effects till the last minute so I didn't get very good ambience noises; I'll be needing to fix that and some other bits in the future. I'm glad the story and art appealed, though!

Thanks for checking it out! dfaksfkask Kyle is one rude child

I'm a sucker for point and clicks, this was a really neat little game! I admit I'm a big weenie with horror games so I got spooked really easily even at the beginning, but I think it's a great atmosphere for being pixel graphics.

Aaaaa thank you so much! I wasn't expecting anyone to make a let's play sdfadsfka

:D glad you liked it! I'm still trying to make time to play and rate everyone else's submissions rip ;w;

What a fantastic game! Perfectly polished in aesthetic and sound design, brilliantly written with some deep philosophical themes, and a plot that unfolds in a way that I didn't expect (especially considering that looping scenarios are a part of the gameplay) but which fits regardless. I loved how you balanced the reveals about both characters involved so that in the end they really were both on equal footing in terms of how the player may view them.

A lot of times when visual novels rely on "Groundhog Day" plots like this it can get a little tedious with trial and error gameplay, but the little and big changes you get as the game goes on kept me thinking about each choice I made even when I was in essence just trying to get to the true ending. Even after getting the true ending, I'm wondering about the choices I made in the end... Similarly, while at first I was a little put off at not being able to skip dialogue I've already seen before or roll back in case I missed something, even this really serviced the plot of the game in obvious ways later (no spoilers but I loved that mechanic btw.)

It blows my mind that you guys were able to put this together in ten days. Really amazing job!

Full Disclosure, I haven't played all the routes yet (I'm very slow with playing my games these days) but I just wanted to write my thoughts after getting through a good number of them. This game's writing shines for me and I'm absolutely glad that I got it. I bought it on the racial justice bundle, but it's definitely worth the asking price for how much content there is.

I can definitely see why it was included in the bundle. While it doesn't touch much on real-life political topics, the way it handles the supernatural community nonetheless brings up very thoughtful and nuanced discussions on community vs. individual responsibility, fairness, bias, cultural clash, and other concepts that can easily be applied to real life issues. I especially enjoyed that the MC can take part in these discussions too (with an understandable, but still flawed perspective) and that the player can decide to an extent how to react with the dialogue choices. This was especially the impression I got playing Marc's route, but it's in all of the ones I've played to an extent.

There's a lot of heavy topics (social/political and otherwise) that come up in this game and I think seeing it so far, the writing handles them great. It helps that the characters themselves feel very real and fleshed out, even down to the main character (I wasn't expecting to enjoy Nora's character as much as I was, since a lot of Otome games tend to flatten the protagonist out so people can "project" onto them.) I also love how it's balanced with lighthearted humor and action scenes that rear up closer to the climax, so it's not too heavy.

The replayability was what ultimately sold it for me though. Each route has several endings, some good, some bittersweet and some bad, and every romance option comes with their own plotline with a separate antagonist or problem to solve. Even the main plot that stays the same, i.e. the mystery about Nora's condition, is woven in with the Love Interest's plotline in a way that makes solving it a unique experience each time. You learn a little something different in each route. I also liked how the different routes somewhat referenced each other despite the Schroedinger's Cat element of what problem, specifically, is rearing its head (like the Ancient in the mines being mentioned in Marc's route, iirc.)

So, in short, I've really been enjoying the experience of playing this game. I see that there's another game on the way, and I think I'll definitely give that one a try too!

The art was definitely my priority when making the game, so I'm pretty relieved it's come across this well. Unfortunately a lot of that functionality is a part of the engine I'm using so it wasn't something I spent time on, I just have poor time management skills DX but that's partly why I joined this jam in the first place haha. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you so much, glad you liked it!

Thanks for playing! XD I was hoping people would catch on to that

Thank you very much! My art skills still have a long way to go, but I am pretty proud of how the player character came out this time around. Also rip I love black licorice and black jellybeans ;w;

I'm glad you liked it! Admittedly I spent a lot more time on the art than I did anything else in the game, I ended up almost running out the clock over a few things XD

I'm also a fan of audio dramas! 0w0  That's pretty cool that you were able to get this done even with money constraints on top of time ones. And to be honest I think if you wanted to do a longer horror game with this voice-acting centered idea you'd find a good audience for it, I haven't seen a lot of other games exploring it.

DX aaah the times when we only notice something afterwards. To be fair it was alright and did convey the passage of time the first time around for me, it was just the fact that I couldn't skip past the pauses that made it harder (I also kept getting the code wrong at first because I was inputting the letters in the order the game showed them to me, so a lot of the rewatching was my fault XD)

Oh, thank you for taking the time to play my game! Glad you liked it!

This had some really cool ideas in it; I appreciated the sound design that went into it, especially since you didn't have that long to make it. The fact that you can choose between male and female voices (and then choose between two different voices) is a lot of effort to put into customization. I was really pleasantly surprised by the meta aspect of the ending where the game "crashes" and what happens when you start it back up, which fits neatly into the "twist" of the other ending where you input the correct code.

My biggest criticism is that the game's transitions between scenes are really, really slow. This was pretty difficult for me to stand during the "waiting" phase of my character's captivity, especially because even with the skip option on I still had to wait 6 whole seconds between each scene, and there were many scenes to get through before and after the "lightbulb" bit. It hampers replayability.

It's a very beautiful game, I found myself loving every animation in it and it conveys a good spooky atmosphere. Like some others, I also ran into a bug where I was unable to move after trying to climb a log (at the food-gathering part, after I'd somehow returned to the house after collecting 4 mushrooms and was told that I needed to go get more.)

As well, some of the ambient noises are much louder than the music. It gave me a good jolt the first time, but after that I wished that they were quieter so I could listen to the music at a decent volume.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to pick some of the options because it caused the game to crash.

You made this in 5 days? It's a very solid game! I loved how the philosophical discussion got put into a new light upon the ending, which I didn't see coming but which was a very fitting twist.

The computer-made graphics were also interesting. Definitely not a style I've seen in a Renpy game, but well made nonetheless (reminded me of the Nancy Drew computer games.)

Definitely one of the more polished submissions out there, a good solid game with excellent atmosphere. Unintuitive gameplay is probably the only issue I have with it, as it appears to drop you in without much setup.

This is extremely good considering the time you had to make it in, and one thing I certainly wasn't expecting to find was a horror parody of one of my favorite Humungous Games series. The ending did feel a little rushed, but it certainly gave me a good scare when the horror kicked in.

I'm glad! I'm making steady progress on the next game, so you can expect to see it in the future.

Commented on the video as well but thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
