<3 sending you good vibes to help with your project!

thanks!

Oh right, I forgot to remove that little bit of the link. thanks

Thank you!

<3

Sending you some good vibes, friend! It will pass!

You can make up to 3 entries! and each submission is matched as a donation for charity too!

Have fun experimenting ;)

Hi!

That's no worries at all! We make the jam pages public about a month in advance so people can prepare for it :)
Often, we (the organisers) have our entries submitted on the first day too xD

As long as your game follows the rules of the jam, we don't mind that people start it early!

Yay, for having finished your entry!! Don't forget to submit it in two weeks!

Hiya!

See this topic ;)

Computer is in the room, as an object you can interact with.
Escape rooms are a common puzzle type in Interactive Fiction (especially parsers). As long as your game is text-focused, we're good!

Thank you!

Aaaah this was dope! I feel called out xD

The art is really cool! Love that style!

Oh thank you! Glad you had fun!

With Adventuron, transcripts are done locally (saved on your browser session like saved games), and can only be downloaded as .txt file when you use the TSTOP command. If you added it to your comment, I don't think it went through. But you can dm it to me on the IntFiction Forum or via Discord (if you are on the TALJ server, I'm there too).

HA! Another suspicious mystery lover! I would have tried to become friend with Kevin too xD

It was fun chatting with the colleagues and trying to find Kevin from Finance!

Hiya!

There were two instances where I found this error on the screen:

one during a passage, and during the chapter titles.

Hi! You may want to have the game open fullscreen or enable scrolling in the itch settings because you can't read more than this...

Hyia! I got an error when clicking the option about hearing from the poet. Same thing happened again when trying to send a message to the admiral

I can't reach the end :/

EDIT: I've tried a different a random set of path and it worked, then tried a different combination and it didn't again. I think it might have to do with variables that were not set at the start? (if a variable is not set with a value at the start with Chapbook, and you come upon some code using the variable, it leads to error)

Hi! I think there might be a little bug? I can't seem to be able to progress after going back to the bathroom a second time. Or is it the end?

Dang it, already exchanged mine for the gift of writing...

xD

The twist and turns of this is insane! I didn't expect the lore to be so deep for just a little interview. Where can I apply?

MOD: The game unfortunately does not follow the main rule for the jam:

Your Entry must be centered around an exchange between characters. No description allowed!

It will be disqualified

Awwww this was so sweet!

0/10000000 would burn my copy again

YESSSSSS!!!! I WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SEQUELLLLL

Hiya,

Cool to see a Twine game look like a neat Visual Novel :P Also the puns xD
I got a bit lost though keeping up with the different statements, it would have been neat if they were recorded somewhere and we could check on them during the game.

Found a little bug when trying to click on the top Setting Button.

Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it!!

This is Not IF. Goes against the rule of the jam.

Hi there,

The game allows the following combination of commands for this action:

  • add herb _ honey
  • mix herb _ honey
  • put herb _ honey
  • put honey _ herb

where the _ can be replaced with: in, with, on, at, into, to, for
These preposition are "synonymous" in this game, and can be used interchangeably.

I will try to add the and to the code when I can get access to it again this weekend. (Adventuron is throwing errors right now...)
Thank you for the report!

Hi! Could you provide the credit for the image used in the title card?
Thank you.

Hi there,

The game needs to be some sort of Interactive Fiction, in the larger sense of the term.
So either a visual novel, text adventure, parser, choice-based text game, or hyperlink.

What do mean by Interactive Novel vs Game with a Story?

Hi there!

LLM are Large Language Models, models coded in a way it can learn from its data. ChatGPT, OPENAI and the like are LLMs.

(I much prefer your interpretation! xD)

IT SHOULD BE ALL FIXED NOW :D

NOTE: I have a few (optional/side) broken commands still, but the game is playable from start to end. I'm currently fixing them! EDIT: OK I found one or two other bugs, you can still reach the end, but some text might not appear.

And I broke some tiles... ;-;

I'm crunching it hard to fix it all real quick!! SO SORRY!!

1- yeah it's fine :)

2- If you want to start with an easy parser program, I'd recommend Adventuron. It has a good tutorial on how to start things up :)

Hi there!

Just a question from us: what would be happening in the computer/TV?

As for your second question:

Parsers are formatted differently than Choice-based/Hyperlinks type of IF, especially when it comes to code. Instead of moving from passage to passage, or screen to screen, you move from one room to another.  You can break down a space (like a living room) into multiple rooms (northern part of the living room, the southern part of it, etc...)

A coded "room" in parser is similar to a "text-passage"/page on the screen in Choice-based/Hyperlinks.  So the optional rule for a parser-type would be to have the whole game coded in one "passage"/screen.

I hope this clears things up!

garden! (cause it's spring :D)

Oh thank you!!

MODERATOR: This is not an Interactive Fiction game.
