A note to the capitalists posting anti-anti-capitalist messages here

I am a fairly conservative-leaning person who has been quite blessed under capitalism and is not particularly against some of its basic ideas, yet I still intend to participate in this jam. As far as I can tell, participation is fairly open, and there are a multitude of reasons someone might want to participate. I didn't see anything saying you have to be 100% anti-capitalist to participate. So maybe consider toning down the implications that all of us here are radical communists who want to dismantle all of Western society.

I think there is and should be room for capitalists to at least explore some anti-capitalist ideas in this jam. That's certainly how I'm approaching it. It's just kind of frustrating to log in checking for activity and feeling lectured by a bunch of people who clearly don't understand where I'm coming from.

No pressure, but I'm definitely playing your entry after this. I feel like being able to see how something you agree with's flaws is the true sign of creativity. Back to the future took 5 years to write cos they kept going back to it, and it still has flaws.  I similarly, like elements of it, and I'm thinking of a mixture between Papers Please and the shop mechanic in Moonlighter, sort of the Independent shop owner being trapped into possibly making unethical decisions to survive.

We'll see if I even get to it, haha. I'm currently a SAHD caring for a 1yo. The last 2 jams I joined, I ended up not submitting because I've just been so busy with life. My 1yo is a constant distraction, so it's not easy to get sustained work done. But I'm hoping with a month to submit, I can at least get something in.

That's the attitude that this jam (and the world) needs.
Thanks a lot!

Super good points!

I too am someone who has been incredibly privileged under capitalist society. But to assume that our experience with the system represents the whole, and to ignore the reality of how this system has not worked for so many, is absolutely mad. Whilst I might not succeed in doing so, I’m definitely going to be trying to come up with something for this, it sounds like a really interesting challenge to take an abstract concept or opinion about a system, and convey that in an interactive way. It’ll teach me some things, make me think (and hopefully do) some creative stuff. And who knows, maybe entertain one or two people briefly in the process.

And if doing so feels like a threat to your reality… Well I honestly don’t know what to say, I guess probably don’t partake in the jam, or screw it, embrace creativity and start your own pro-capitalism Jam.
