This jam was a lot of first for me. It was my first jam I didn't drop out of, my first officially finished game (even if things weren't perfect), and the first game I finished with my partner, Dazalius. We wouldn't have gotten our score without you guys voting. It was a real autumn gift to be able to have the game viewed so highly, especially after all I've been through this rough year. I'm really flattered that my art was so well received- even though I had to cut some corners with assets, like the water and some tree variants. It really means a lot to me. Thank you thank you thank you. And thank you, Daz. I really loved working on this with you, and I hope we make many more games in the future. <3

Enough about me! What was your favorite part about working on your game? Did you make new friends? Are you going to polish your game now that the jam is over? I would love to share the positive post-mortem vibes so we don't get mopey!

True, this jam was a lot of fun. The last days were exhausting but overall working on my game was really cool! I also met many great peoples on my stream you two included and played many great games! Hope we will meet again on another jam or streams!

I don't watch a ton of twitch except to support friends and watch streams by some of my favorite youtubers, but I'll definitely come check on you from time to time! You were a pretty comfy streamer to listen to! Thank you so much for streaming the games and giving feedback live!

Congrats on ranking high in all the categories! You guys did an amazing job working together for your submissions!

To answer the questions:

My favorite part on making my game was implementing some of the features I have never done before, which there was a lot and I managed to fit a fair amount of my ideas into the game, and that feeling of succeeding on adding something entirely new for the first time gave me a big sense of happiness. Still had some cool ideas left out due to losing almost a whole week of development to irl stuff. Buuut I might see if I can add some secret paths with all the other cool gimmicks I had in mind as well as adding polish to the things I think fell weakest at. As for making new friends, I didn't explore that much into that part because I worked on everything as a solo dev. But this being my first jam made me realize that there are a lot of talented people here and there will be a lot more to meet in future jams that I may soon take part in.

I loved every second of it! Almost all of what I've done for our game was the first time I did it, so it is a huge motivation boost that we did so well. I'm in seventh game dev heaven right now.

I literally bought Aseprite for this game, calculated a game economy for the first time and learned a ton about unity from my experienced buddy Xan.

Both of us work full 40 hours but sitting in Discord in the evenings building this game was amazing to me. Even the weekend crunch was great. First times are just always a little special 😁

Thanks for this post, Autumnus really was a beautiful Journey-like experience!

The first time you calculated a game economy? No kidding! That's awesome! Cozy Harvest is definitely one that I'll go back and play again from time to time!

I used to really like unity but I kind of fell out of love with it for unreal. I know Daz has used it a lot so I may get back into it for a future project. It's always great to learn new things either way!

Also, thank you! I still haven't played Journey but I've seen a lot of people play it. I've always really loved those wordless exploration games and I'm glad I got to make one finally!

I loved this gamejam! My favorite part was, i think, making animations and music. Also programming all that was funny, we were also making memes with sprites and music about our game just for fun and some tests of game was cool to record and discuss. In common i think that this gamejam was interesting and cool. It was also first for our team and now we know how gamejams work! Next time we will make something smaller and manage our time better because we were lazy and were doing nothing almost all the jam time 😆

Hey, it's better to be a little lazy and have fun! All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!

RainLeaf was one of the games I didn't have much time to play (there were nearly 400 games for this jam!), but I want to go back to it at some point. It was very clear that it was a team of younger devs, so I didn't want to be hyper critical, but even then, it was a very cute game! The art and animation kind of reminded me of Homestar Runner, so I could totally have seen a game like RainLeaf on a site like Newgrounds back in the 90s as a flash game! It definitely added to the cozy feeling for me personally. lol

We surely will continue work on the game until it will be polished, there are currently many features and gameplay we want to add (poor me editing code written by sleepy me at night, hello ultimate_tweening_system_super_cool_with_absurdly_long_variable_name)! From the start we planned to add some fun mini-games and long quests that will open up some "lore" in process, but didn't make it on time, and that is why game is so short and "bald" atm. If you really wanna play it, i recommend waiting until release first, we promise that we will save that "cozy" and "cute" feeling that you have about our game :D
