Markdown support and notifications

I would love to be able to use **Markdown** on the forums, I think it is a good compromise between ease of use and possibilities. Or if you don't want to add Markdown support, it would be nice to be able to quote posts (actually you can, click the Formatting button and you can select quote).

Another thing that I would like is to be able to subscribe to topics. So if you really want to follow the development of a game you receive a notification when there is a new message. If you add this feature it would also be nice to be able to customize the behaviour of the notifications, for example:

  • Send an email when you have a notification
  • When you post in a thread, subscribe automatically

Uh, it looks like notifications are already implemented, even if I don't really understand how they work ^^

Out of curiosity, what do you not understand about how they work / how would you expect them to work as opposed to how they work now? (Genuinely asking!)

I'm used to the forums where you get a notification when somebody posts in a thread you've already took part in, not only when somebody directly answers your messages. Actually I think the current system makes sense, however I would like to be able to subscribe to threads so that I am notified when there is an update.

By the way, it is amazing you are really connected to the community, and listen to the feedback.

Thread subscription we don't have yet, but we'll likely add it. (also the ability to unsubscribe if you don't want to get a notification for new posts in your thread)

This is completely unrelated, but could you please explain how you quoted my text ? I can't find a button in the editor :)

We hide it well!

Yeah I highly suggest adding support for Markdown instead of HTML. It's a lot easier and faster to use for most people.
