The idea is interesting, but as it is now you always have to move both ships together, there's no point in clearing an asteroid going over it with one ship and under it with the other, so they always move in pair. Also some visual or audio cue that you're travelling from left to right would be nice, as would be a final approach animation.

I like the art of the game at first i win with out moving and dont understand how to move but them use the controls and loose every time haha I like it!

Ok, I like the art style, but I definitely think this needs some more polishing.  I think adjusting how fast the asteroids fly at you OR adjusting the speed of the spaceships would make it a lot easier/fun to play.

I think a cool idea is would be instead of controlling both spaceships with WASD and <>^↓, maybe just have one spaceship on top, and one on, the bottom and your WASD controls both of them but invertedly. So when you move one up, the other moves down? That might add some challenge/depth to the game. And of course it's just an idea, not saying the game NEEDS this xD

But definitely not bad, good work!

Nice game and art. Good work

Nice, clean and fitting art style. I really liked the backstory of Asteroid Calamity. Unfortunately, I was at the mercy of the RNG with the placement, because the movement is a too slow. But it felt good to avoid incoming obstacles.

nice game! movement needs a bit of improving and hitboxes could be fixed, but besides that no other complaints. i beat it third try!

I feel like the only reason it's hard, is because there's not enough time to move out of the way. You kinda have to get lucky with placement. Good job on the game though, keep it up.

Good job on making this game! I'll just echo what another comment said that I agree with, which is maybe make the stars scroll to the left as the game is running to give the feeling like you're moving through space. That way it's more clear to the player that they should just be moving up/down to avoid asteroids. I got stuck trying to move left and right a bunch until I realized only up/down were the available moves. Still a fun game!

Hard game, if you improve the movement a bit this could be a bit more fun and less challenging.

Clear mechanics, once I hit random buttons on the keyboard for a while. Not always possible to get a tutotial in game during a jam, but at leasting having controls on itch page would be good.

Art is clean, if simple. Two controllable ships.... was that the "connection"? Seemed the opposite, they were not connected in any way.

Good job getting a game in, that puts you in the top 25% already! Hope you had fun.

yeaah nice game! good job!

I like the idea of controlling two players at once, though I think being able to move faster and having more and smaller asteroids would help, great job!

Cool submission, I survived!

A simple and fast side scroller - sometimes that is all you need. I liked the SpaceX pun and the art was nice and elegant.

I think that with a few little tweaks you could improve the feeling of flying through space. Try adding a bit of scrolling to the background image at a speed that is slower than the asteroids. I felt it was a bit difficult to understand that the spaceships were flying to the right and I think that could improve that.

If you have the time, please consider rating our game as well - thanks:
