I played only a bit this one.

No hot take from me, the statues coming to life are cool, shooting one with magic is satisfying and I like the idea ofusing efficiently some rare magic items I can find while only fleeing otherwise from many more enemies that'll get items. The environment and view are good and the only problem of movement is the speed.

Movement is too slow especially as the rooms are quite big (although in theory I like more compact dungeons they probably need to be big for this one to work so I don't think it's inherently a problem).

Thanks for sharing.

I like the art. Cthulhu sprite and those statues look great and spooky as hell. Movement is very slow and clunky. You need to add some more interesting  stuff to make the player enjoy the game. It gets boring quickly in it's current state. Good job anyway

Nice job getting this all together!

I am going to be a broken record here! Pacing is definitely the best feedback you will get for this one. For the first few minutes of gameplay, it felt like nothing was happening at all, and the time between different events was far too long. I felt myself getting bored almost immediately, and if I was playing outside of a jam, I probably would have just quit within a couple of minutes. Players have very limited attention spans, one of the first things we have to consider as designers is how do we get that juicy dopamine hit of anticipation built up ASAP. So I would definitely look for more ways to sell that early on, especially when you are going for such an atmospheric game like this.

Also, I could do with a few less mostly naked guys on their knees in chains with tentacles; that was giving me even more dark thoughts than the rest of the atmosphere. :D

As others mentioned - good job on atmosphere. And I agree with others that movement is too slow. I understand the intention - to make it more scary, but it just takes so much time to explore anything with such big levels. And predictability, that every room has a kneeling person who might turn into a monster makes it even more monotonous.

Maybe if you make movement tiny bit faster (for thematic reasons, not too fast of course), but also reduce size of each floor that will make it way more enjoyable (in a good way!)

Nice graphics and great ambient sound. The movement was WAY too slow for me but the turning was nice and snappy. Nice tilted perspective too. It would've been even better if camera was pulled back a little more. Still, good job :)

The art, dungeon tiles, sound/creepy music and models are all great although may clash a bit with the environment. Turning is even snappy but as others have mentioned the movement is extremely slow. The rooms are big and open and don't seem to have a lot to do in them, further making the slow movement harder to bear.

Creepy!

Nice dark atmosphere, although the evil laugh caught me off guard lol, using Audacity or some other tool you could give it some reverb to help blend it in.  Cool dungeon crawler prototype, good work!

Good idea. I will try that in the post-jam version, thanks

Nice job! great presentation and atmosphere!

Nice texture and beautiful sprites, but there needs to be a bit more variety. Movement is way to slow but I think the theme was nicely captured in this entry.

I liked the graphics but the movement was way too slow, especially since you use large rooms. It takes ages to explore them. My guess is that the animation takes a whole second for one step? Make it 0.2s and the game will feel very different from now.

I make the game slow for thematic reasons but I probably overdid it
