What was your team size?
2 - Whimless (check description) and autumn

How did you incorprorate the theme?
You have three tracks you can move to, each one "diverging" in a sense from the other, as well as diverging controls needing to use both hands at once for moving and clicking (one hand support is available through space bar)

Hey team. Just wanted to say I really like what you have here, genuinely has some decent potential. The only issues I'd say have already been said so I won't repeat.

But yeah you do have something here and I'd love to see this be fleshed out more and would actually pay money to play this if this had a proper time to cook into something.

8/10 would Jam again

Developer

I'm so glad you enjoyed it this much! I was unsure if I wanted to work on it some more after the jam, this might make me clean things up at least! Thank you so much

Good game, I like the concept of switching lanes to the one that has the note in order to hit it!

Some feedback I would give for this game is a way to change scroll speed in case it scrolls too fast for the player, and changing the hold note’s color so that players would recognize it easier.

Additionally, I think it would be better to put the game explanation within the tutorial level at the level select menu instead of having a separate “How to play” button so that people that want to get right into the game can get themselves started!

In any case, great job on this game!

All valid points! I did want to make a more interactive tutorial, but I had restarted the game several times and didn't have time to do one so I threw together a quick how to play button, and scroll speed was on the list of things to add but I forgot it in the final build. Thanks for playing!

Nice job!  I did find the game very difficult though, it doesn't feel like there is enough time to move to and hit the notes in time.  But other than that I found the game very polished and fun!

Developer

I wish I had playtesters before the night of turning it in, I would have fix a lot of problems including this 😭 thank you for the review!

The game at the current state is very hard, but mostly because of one thing. Its the inability to move down to the furtherst lane as fast as possbile. I suggest the ability to hop from the last row back to the first one (and the same backwards) or allow the player to change lanes via buttons GHJ, WSX ECT.

7/10 mostly because of the controlls

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I've gotten that suggestion a lot and I really like it, I'm honestly not sure how I didn't think of it myself, i was just like "Okay the hard mode is hard but surely I'm just bad lol", I may add those in after the jam's over, thanks for playing!

Awesome game! I gotta say the tracks are insanely hard lol, I was missing all the time, but I definitely like the challenge, and I also love the fact that you took inspiration from Muffet's fight :). Also considering this is your first completed game great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Maybe a bit too hard haha but oh well

Good start! I included it in my Rhythm Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out!

Developer

Loved the video! Thanks for playing and putting me in :D

I love it, reallly cool entry !!

Developer

<3 thank you!

A really polished jam entry! I feel very clumsy moving up and down at the beggining but its feels ok after some tries. very good game :3

Developer

Thank you! I wish I had people playtest earlier, this is the main thing I'm hearing haha, nothing to do about it now though

Even if I did kinda suck at this game, its so fun, super polished and the music was phenominal (even if there was only 1 track), only critique is that its kinda hard to move between the top and bottom track, but I can see from the comments u've heard that already. Anyway, great game, had tons of fun!

Developer(+1)

I'm so glad you liked it! However there should be two tracks... did it not come with both? Tutorial and Vergence? I'll have to look into that, thanks!

Submitted(+1)

no I did have 2 tracks, that mustve been a typo my bad

Developer(+1)

oh haha that's good I was worried. yeah, I wanted to do more tracks but my friend (the composer) had limited time so we went with two

Submitted(+2)

yeah don't worry about it, I rated based on the quality of the tracks rather than how many there were

Submitted(+2)

This is a fun and somewhat intense game. I like the idea you've got of moving a box through beats and tapping on time. For suggestions, I would make the tutorial that tells players more about some of the game's features like the X's that appear on the screen.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the review! Yeah, barriers should have been in the how to play section, but I put that together last second and forgot to mention it. If I update the game in the future, I'll definitely make the tutorial level better!

Submitted(+2)

It was hard to move between the bottom track to the top track, would have liked something like: choosing track with 1-2-3. Otherwise nice game! Nice effects and feeling when playing.

Developer(+2)

Yeah I got a lot of the same feedback last night before releasing it, if I could go back and add one thing it would be custom keybinds, I just got used to WS and didn't realize how awkward it was. Thanks for playing!
