I'd love to do a Unity 3D matrix style bullet hell game. Searching for someone who can nail the look and the feel of the game. Asset choice and integration, UI, game ideas, balancing etc.

Basic game outline:

A cyberpunk-style game with a focus on robots, digital realms, and retro-tech aesthetics. Dodging an endless stream of bullets in a virtual 3D world.

Setting: The game is set in a cyberpunk future where humanoid robots battle their way through digital realms. The player controls a humanoid robot, designed with intricate armor plating, lights, and advanced robotics.

When Stationary: The environment is an old cyber room, reminiscent of retro sci-fi. A dark, confined space lit by flickering monitors and old-fashioned computers, providing a nostalgic yet eerie ambiance. Loose wires hang, and various gadgets scatter across tables. The room is bathed in dim light, emphasizing the tech-heavy and somewhat abandoned vibe.

When Moving: The world transforms into a digital matrix-like landscape, with glowing green code rain. The protagonist is transported into a virtual world, filled with hostile drones firing endless streams of bullets. The backdrop is dynamic and abstract, with patterns and data swirling around the player, creating a sense of constant motion and digital chaos.

Music and Sound Effect Direction:

  • Music: The soundtrack should be a mix of retro synthwave and futuristic, digital orchestration. Stationary scenes have a low-tempo, ambient soundscape, inspired by the atmospheric tones of retrofuturism, evoking a sense of unease and anticipation. During movement, the tempo picks up to match the intensity of the action, featuring energetic beats, fast-paced electronic melodies, and digital distortions to enhance the chaotic digital world.
  • Sound Effects: In the stationary room, sound effects like keyboard typing, the hum of old electronics, and the occasional static crackle give life to the setting. In the digital world, sharp laser sounds, rapid gunfire, and electronic whirrs are omnipresent, emphasizing the intensity of the battle. Mechanical noises from the protagonist’s movements, such as servos and hydraulic sounds, add to the realism. The matrix rain should have a faint background hum that adds an immersive layer to the digital landscape.
