We just posted a beta and would love if some of you could give it a try, provide feedback, playtesting, etc.. Denizens is inspired by early pc adventure games and designed to play like a classic console game with zelda like combat and exploration.  let us kow what you think!

the demo version is a pretty good chunk of gameplay but the reason development was put on hold was because i went into it thinking of a scope like Myrkvidr but with the graphics and everything it was just too much of a workload. I AM planning on doing a proper Myrkvidr sequel after DEnizens is complete though.

thanks for playing. i love watching your videos. fyi. you are playing Myrkvidr in hardcore mode. not using the tent to rest. 1 tent is all you need for the whole game. just use it whenever you need to rest LOL i hope to see you get to the end. it gets wild

oh thanks so much. i will check out your youtube thing. i havnt seen anyone play that yet. a few people have completed it but its a long haul haha. hope you enjoy

ahh tis the Jade Eagle you seek, hidden well within the tower of Bexx

thanks for pointing that out. this kind of feedback will help make a better experience. i actually uploaded a new build with some changes

that ones a little abstract and easy to miss. thinking about putting a better hint in there somewhere. theres a hidden path you need to slash the vines with your sword to find it

early development, Inspired by early MS-DOS/C64 adventure games A hybrid text/graphical adventure, zelda style combat, metroid-vania style exploration with RPG elements.  Download the demo and report bugs

this is really genious!

you need to find 3 pieces in the dungeon to awaken him from his cacoon. the third piece you need is his Trident. Try searching in the grassy areas just to the northeast of the Wizard's house

The ghost ship can be found by sailing south from the Isle of Torza. It is just north of the south pole land mass and to the east of the dungeon RUIN. it is not near varsarra.

thanks for playing! We are making progress!

thanks. Ultima 3 and 4 were huge inspirations for this.  Right before i started on this I played through both of those to get motivated.

just released the final version of the game.. if you are into old school retro brutal RPGs, then check this out

thanks for the feedback.  the latest version now shows damage done by enemies

I am developing a stylized RPG centered around exploration of a massive world.  I am very inspired by old school  PC DOS RPGs of the 80s like Ultima and Legacy of the Ancients as well as old console titles such as Phantasy Star.  Right now I am in testing mode so there is a BETA available that I keep updating as I discover the bugs. i  would love some more people to try it out and let me know what kinds of problems you encounter. check it out!

this was fixed with a recent update.

I noticed a minor bug to be aware of.. not big enough for me to do an update, but just know, that when you find a magic spell parchment, the only character that should ever be able to use them is the main hero. do not use the parchment on one of your companions or it will be lost and you will be dead in the water. The first one is in Dungeon RUIN. its a parchment that teaches the UNLOCK MAGIC spell. Only the main hero can cast this spell so use the parchment on main hero only to learn it.

THANKS so much!  im glad you like it.  the final version has so much more stuff in it. it might be a little while until its done, but so much stuff has been added since this beta version.

while adding the new Theif features to the game, adding a moral system where thievery grants you Thief reputation, and subtracts hero reputation.. I have started to build the moral system up a bit more.. depending on what actions you take in the game, will determine the character class you will be playing. you wont have an option to switch classes instantly, you will need to work at it and every action you take will determine what you will become. If you gain enough hero reputation and gather the seven crystals, reclaiming the Mystic Sword, you will become a Paladin.. by joining the Brotherhood of Shadows and becoming "nefarious" you will be a Thief.. and I will be adding more classes as well as extending the length of the game with new areas and content to accommodate the fact that these classes will be unlocked later in the story line.

any luck?

Im not sure what is going wrong. on Windows 10 there should be no problem. Ive tested in oseveral W10 machines..  heres a direct link to a folder you can download. try that maybe. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ihs1-CEedzu-WUpQTwtLzak4DV7A4O5c    take all the files and put it in a folder on your HD

what version of windows?

I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. this is the first release of this game and i am anticipating there may be some issues. please give me as much info as possible so i can figure out what the problem is.

Did you extract the files from the ZIP file before trying to run the setup file?

Check out my new retro fantasy RPG.. heavily inspired by 80s PC titles such as Ultima and Magic Candle, etc.. Right now I have a BETA version available to test out. some features are still being worked on, but I would love to get some feedback MYRKVIDR BETA
