I get this after the intro about not closing the gate.

I posted about this in the other "game not loading" thread, but I also get this error at the same point in the game.

Was that the screenshot partway down?  Apologies.  I couldn't pick it out. :)

This seems to be a known issue with some computers. It seems like the game is not properly downloading some of the necessary files to generate the levels.

We are working on a fix, we'll keep you posted!

Just letting you know, I tried creating a different character and now the game has loaded properly several times!

All I did differently was move the .exe from my downloads folder to desktop, and skip the story cutscene.

I still don't know how to speak to the NPCs in the first room though :o

As we said on the email the tutorials are still a big thing to add. I wrote the basic keys and added them to the itch page:

Keys:
Movement: A - D
Jump: W - Space bar
Interact with NPC: E
Open doors: E
Game menu: ESC
Inventory: Q
Equipped items: 1 - 2
Shield block: Right click
Attack: Left click
Shoot arrow: Press left click to load, release to shoot.
Map: M

Hope that helps!

Thanks for replying to such a basic question, I swear I mashed every button on my keyboard trying to interact... but hopefully this will help a lot of people :)

I installed the itch downloader app and installed it from there and it ran.  Originally I downloaded the exe straight from the store page.

Glad it worked!

this fixed all the fatal errors for me as well
