Thanks! Email is at the top of my profile:

Thanks!

You're one of the best, my friend. I'm going to put a lot of work into it to make it worthy of a standalone cart, but also to provide those who played the current version with real reason to return to the game for a genuine extended and even more satisfying experience. :)

Thanks for playing and for the video review.

But just to be clear, the game is designed as a single-player game where one person controls both characters. It's best experienced with two NES controllers held sideways, like Wii-motes. For emulation, it plays well, too, with one character assigned to WASD on the keyboard for moving and the other character assigned to the Arrow Keys, with the Select button mapped for each wherever makes sense to the player. ;)

Crater Song is a short, single-player co-op adventure puzzle game for the 8-bit NES based within the sci-fi fantasy world of Orebody. And it's FREE!

It's a brand new NES game (yep, 8-bit ROM for the NES) that's inspired by Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

That means it challenges players to control two characters simultaneously. On actual NES hardware, this means holding two NES controllers sideways, like Wii-motes, and using the d-pads and Select buttons to play the game. If you have an Everdrive or similar cart, you can toss the ROM on there and play on actual NES or NES-clone hardware. The control scheme, like in Brothers, is actually quite intuitive.

Crater Song can also be played via emulation. So, unless you have two USB NES controllers around, I might recommend using WASD and the Arrow Keys to control each character. You can map Select and Start to whatever buttons are within easy reach.

Awesome. Player 1 still uses a controller, but plugging in Zapper to controller port 2 should just automatically work when playing the game (no need to select any options), assuming you're using a CRT TV. Have fun! :)

Any update on when the charity bundle might go live? I've not heard anything about confirming my game's inclusion, so I assume things are just taking long than anticipated.

Zapper support, for a second player, has now been added to the final game. :)

;)

Thanks! Never say never. But if light gun support was ever added, it would be a special edition of the game, since it wasn't designed for that originally.

Send an email to orebodyinc at gmail dot com

If you're interested in doing a longplay of the entire game, I can give you a download link for the game.

Do you mean you're requesting a game download code to make a video? If so, absolutely.

Because otherwise, if you're just trying to re-post the demo, I'd prefer you send your audience directly to the Itch page.

Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, the Steam version is a standalone product and does not contain the NES ROM as a separate file. There are benefits to buying that version (rumble support, multiple palettes, achievements, etc.), but there is also a benefit to buying the game on Itch (you get the raw ROM to use however you see fit in terms of playing). We recommend choosing the option that best fits what you want out of the game.

Will do.

Looks great!

😆

Update: This has finally been fixed.

Great work!

Shout out to my recent backers and to people like you who have supported my creative efforts. I appreciate you.

You may need to access it under bundles you own. That is not up to me. That’s how Itch organizes bundle content.

Premium Edition Games is the publisher of the NES physical edition. While preorders have finished, they will have additional copies after those shipments have been fulfilled. We recommend following them on social media and reaching out. You can also grab the full game digitally on Steam or here on Itch when it launches. Thanks!

Thanks. It was made for the original NES, so that explains the style. ;)

Rez is the GOAT.

Thanks. Hope you enjoy it.

Oratorio is a rhythm action rail-shooter for the NES.

It's primarily inspired by games like RezChild of Eden, and Thumper.

There are currently no plans for a Sporebody NES port. It's being developed within Unity. Of course, who knows what might happen down the line. But currently Binder's Tale and Sand Ripples are the only Orebody games on the NES. ;)

We just published the proof-of-concept demo for the minimalist 2D atmospheric puzzle platformer Sporebody: An Orebody Story.

The Fungred, a race of mushroom beings, live on the periphery of what is known as the Waste Divide, hundreds of miles of desecrated, polluted earth that surround the the industrial heart of ore refining on Orebody.

In Sporebody, players guide Palo, a young Fungred, on a pilgrimage from his home cluster at the polluted edges of the Waste Divide to the Universal Veil, the core of the underground mycelium network and spiritual mecca to Palo and his people.

We hope you enjoy this first taste of what's to come.

You can download the game on its Itch page HERE

Congrats on getting this out, Cutter.

Thanks, Dan. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks. I'm aware of that issue and hope to fix it in a future update. Cheers.

This looks great. Love the chunky sprites!

It does have an end! There's about 110 normal levels, give or take. Basically, 10 worlds of 10 screens each, plus a little extra. I've been terrible about updating with the cover art. Will try to do that soon. Thanks for playing!

That's a big compliment coming from you, Max! Wink looks so good!

But, honestly, the credit goes to the pixel artists who provided the assets. I'm just trying to do them all justice.

No worries. Thanks for supporting the bundle. And it’ll always be here waiting if you ever get an itch.

It’s a ROM for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. To play on your PC, I recommend downloading the NES emulator MESEN. It’s free. You can Google it.

And if you can, play with a controller. You’ll have to configure the buttons in the emulator under Inputs.

Cheers.

Thanks for reaching out. Love the work you're doing. I can make a one-day bundle with a discount. Let me know, and I can set the bundle to go live.

Thanks for playing and posting the video!

I've definitely played the game using FCEUX. That's the emulator I used when making the game. You might need an updated version. Have you tried MESEN? That's the current emulator I use.
