See the top 10 community voted games, some honorable mentions, and the top 5 judges' picks!

We try to have the results out on the first Friday after the voting period ends. ๐Ÿ‘

When the winners video is released on the GDevelop YouTube channel. ๐Ÿ‘

When the winners video is released on the GDevelop YouTube channel. ๐Ÿ‘

You can change the text, add screenshots, and generally update your page during the community voting period, as long as you don't touch your game files.

But now that we're in the judge voting phase, just don't touch your game at all until they have a chance to finalize their votes.

That's the safest choice. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ‘

It's better to not touch the game at all for the next 3 days, while the judges finalize their votes. ๐Ÿ‘

Update the information on the account page? What do you mean?

As it says in the rules, the judges will be playing and rating the top voted games in the jam after the community voting is over.

So do not update your games, on itch or gd.games, after the community voting period is done.

When you see the Jam winner announcement video is set to premiere on the GDevelop channel, then you'll be able to update your games.

Thank you. ๐Ÿ‘

I will look through the screenshots and thumbnails of all of the games in the jam to try and make sure that doesn't happen, but the community voting is generally really good at bringing the best games to the top. ๐Ÿ‘

Sorry, I have time set aside to play a bunch of games nearing the end of the jam and afterwards, and I'll mostly be looking at the top rated community voted games.

The games are locked in during the jam voting period, so any changes to the game files on the page would result in itch automatically kicking them from the jam.

You can still edit your descriptions, add screenshots, update your page, and do other things though. ๐Ÿ‘

This game is disqualified for missing the deadline, but I'm sure they would appreciate some feedback on their work. ๐Ÿ‘

After the community voting period, there will be 3 days of judge voting, and then we'll aim to release the video and results as quickly as we can after that.

On itch, if your game has a low number of ratings compared to the other games in the jam, your score will be "adjusted" to be lower than what it actually is.

So in this example, if most games have around 10 ratings on them, the game with 1 rating will have it's score reduced and the game with ten 4-star ratings would probably win.

Hope that helps. ๐Ÿ‘

You only needed the web version on itch, and the version on gd.games.

So your PC version being the wrong version is not an issue.

The voting phase runs for over a week, so if you play, rate, and leave feedback on other games in the jam, they will likely play your game too.

Not everyone you give feedback to will play your game, but some of the them will. ๐Ÿ‘

Jams work best when everyone plays a person's game, rates it, gives them some feedback on it, and only then do they can ask for that person to play their game.

Hope that helps. ๐Ÿ‘

Only people who have a game submitted, or are added to games as contributors, can vote on games in this jam.

So the general public can't vote, it's just your fellow jammers who are voting for each other.

Yeah, that's totally fine. If you play a person's game, rate it fairly, and then leave some feedback about it, there's no problem then asking them to play your game.

It's just when people give out 5 stars to each other in order to bump up each others games..... that ruins voting. ๐Ÿ˜…

Games need to be uploaded to itch and gd.games.

I've seen rate for rate spamming ruin the scoring of jams in the past, and I'd like to see a fair and honest jam here.

It's alright to ask someone to play your game if you've played, rated, and gave feedback to their game. But blanket "rate for rate" callouts can really mess with ratings as people try to collect as many ratings as they can without playing/having their own game played.

If I find people posting blanket "rate for rate" posts here, they will be removed. If I find too much of that happening, the community tab will be removed entirely.

The voting period only just started.

There is a whole week left for people to rate your game.

We won't be going through games unless they get reported, or if they show up near the top end of the community voting during the judge voting period. There are just too many games to go through them one by one, sorry.

Is there a reason you think yours wouldn't be ok?

They may be disqualified when the jam ends if they have not made any other changes to the project by the end of the jam.

But there are still 6 days left in the jam for them to update and improve their game, so we won't be taking any moderation actions against those sorts of games until after the deadline passes.

A bit of blood splatter is totally fine. ๐Ÿ‘

I thought I fixed that bug, sorry. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I don't really have the time to go back in and fix that unfortunately, hope you had fun until that point. ๐Ÿ˜…

Web browser HTML5 games and gd.games exports can be done as often as you need to without a subscription.

The one click automated desktop and android exports get sent to our servers to get built, and are then sent back to you as the .exe or apk, so those builds cost GDevelop money, which is why you need a subscription to get more of them. But since HMTL games get packaged on your computer, and don't cost GDevelop anything for you to export, you can do that as many times as you want without a subscription. ๐Ÿ‘

So no, you definitely don't need a subscription to join the jam.

Hope that helps clear things up. ๐Ÿ‘

When the jam starts, and til the end of the jam deadline, there will be a button on this jam page where you can submit your game.

Along with submitting your game here, upload a public version of the game to gd.games. (And you can add the game jam number in the genre tab to make sure it gets added to the right jam page on gd.games, but the important part if just getting a public version of the game on gd.games.)

So:
1. Submit here on itch.
2. Publish the game on gd.games.

Hope that helps. ๐Ÿ‘

As long as you're able to export a game with GDevelop and post it here on itch and gd.games, you can join this jam. ๐Ÿ‘

You can sign up for the jam at any point between right now and the end of the jam.

Just click the join button on the jam page. ๐Ÿ‘

Nope, this jam won't have any specific genre/game mechanic requirements, other than the theme that is announced at the beginning of the jam. ๐Ÿ‘

Adorable little robot character!

This character is simple, but gives me "dumb portal robot" vibes, and I am loving it!

I can see this character being used for a tonne of jam games in the future. ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿค–

We can't moderate what you do in your head prior to the jam, a lot of people think about the things they'll do before the actual start time.

Planning ahead of time is fine, but DON'T make any assets or make any part of the game prior to the start for the jam. ๐Ÿ‘

Remember that the theme for the jam won't be announced til the start time, so the game you plan to make might not fit with the theme.

As long as you're following itch.io's TOS, you are allowed to join our jam. A parent/guardian may need to be involved in the collecting/managing the prizes, but their age is fine for taking part in our jam. ๐Ÿ‘

Glad to hear it!

I really enjoyed making this one, so it's good to hear that it's still holding up. ๐Ÿ‘

Send another email in to ask about it.

Send it to the same Email address, from the email associated with your GDevelop account.

I saw your comment on the YouTube channel, but for some reason it won't let me reply to you. ๐Ÿ˜•

You need to email the address from the blog post that was linked under the jam winners video with the email address associated with your account. Did your issue get resolved?
