You can change the text, add screenshots, and generally update your page during the community voting period, as long as you don't touch your game files.
But now that we're in the judge voting phase, just don't touch your game at all until they have a chance to finalize their votes.
That's the safest choice. ๐

As it says in the rules, the judges will be playing and rating the top voted games in the jam after the community voting is over.
So do not update your games, on itch or gd.games, after the community voting period is done.
When you see the Jam winner announcement video is set to premiere on the GDevelop channel, then you'll be able to update your games.
Thank you. ๐
On itch, if your game has a low number of ratings compared to the other games in the jam, your score will be "adjusted" to be lower than what it actually is.
So in this example, if most games have around 10 ratings on them, the game with 1 rating will have it's score reduced and the game with ten 4-star ratings would probably win.
Hope that helps. ๐
I've seen rate for rate spamming ruin the scoring of jams in the past, and I'd like to see a fair and honest jam here.
It's alright to ask someone to play your game if you've played, rated, and gave feedback to their game. But blanket "rate for rate" callouts can really mess with ratings as people try to collect as many ratings as they can without playing/having their own game played.
If I find people posting blanket "rate for rate" posts here, they will be removed. If I find too much of that happening, the community tab will be removed entirely.
They may be disqualified when the jam ends if they have not made any other changes to the project by the end of the jam.
But there are still 6 days left in the jam for them to update and improve their game, so we won't be taking any moderation actions against those sorts of games until after the deadline passes.
Web browser HTML5 games and gd.games exports can be done as often as you need to without a subscription.
The one click automated desktop and android exports get sent to our servers to get built, and are then sent back to you as the .exe or apk, so those builds cost GDevelop money, which is why you need a subscription to get more of them. But since HMTL games get packaged on your computer, and don't cost GDevelop anything for you to export, you can do that as many times as you want without a subscription. ๐
So no, you definitely don't need a subscription to join the jam.
Hope that helps clear things up. ๐
When the jam starts, and til the end of the jam deadline, there will be a button on this jam page where you can submit your game.
Along with submitting your game here, upload a public version of the game to gd.games. (And you can add the game jam number in the genre tab to make sure it gets added to the right jam page on gd.games, but the important part if just getting a public version of the game on gd.games.)
So:
1. Submit here on itch.
2. Publish the game on gd.games.
Hope that helps. ๐
We can't moderate what you do in your head prior to the jam, a lot of people think about the things they'll do before the actual start time.
Planning ahead of time is fine, but DON'T make any assets or make any part of the game prior to the start for the jam. ๐
