Oh no big deal at all, just thought I'd mention it. Ever since I first saw a "colorblind assist" option in a game I've wanted to start a team of people with different levels of colorblindness and consult with game makers on that feature, because the colorblind assists are almost always useless. But that's really just a me problem, and I don't know to what extent it would actually be worth a game maker's time to include that feature. -\('_')/-🤷♂️
Love the art style, but I have a critique: I keep hitting the spikes because they don't stand out. Like, I can see them, but they don't scream "hazard" because they look like they are fading into the background like scenery. I am also red-green colorblind, and it took me 3 deaths to realize that the tree enemy was what was hurting me. Here are some pictures I made to show how it looks when I make everything more readable for me. This is just a friendly suggestion - I don't want to come across as some entitled jerk who is demanding that you change it for their benefit.

There is a handy tool in Google Chrome where you can translate a whole webpage in a few clicks. In the future, try right clicking anywhere on the page, and in the dropdown menu select "Translate to English." As long as the text on the page isn't part of an image, the whole page will be instantly translated. Cool, huh?

Glad to hear you are so interested! I am new to Discord, and I can't for the life of me figure out how else to invite you to a server besides this link. There is no direct connect option I can see. So, click this, I guess? https://discord.gg/MZsNc2R3

I have a strange request. Could someone out there make a Christmas remix of this song, Red Heels? I don't even know how you'd do that, but... yeah. I've used it as the main level theme in my game, and I want to do a Christmas level pack. I already asked the original composer, but he hasn't replied.
Kinda like this, except done purposefully and artfully by a human https://rave.dj/HT8ek3FDu4lo-g
It would be great if you'd take on this challenge for free (and of course to be included in the credits) but I am also willing to pay as long as it isn't an arm and a leg (one arm, MAX).

Thank you for playing, and for your feedback!
Those are all very good points. Most of those things are being worked on right now for the v2.1 update, but some I hadn't considered. Always good to have a fresh pair of eyes.
Indeed, the game could definitely use some aesthetic variation, but my primary concern at first was just to make a working game. I plan to add particle-effect-trails to the blocks as they move/collide, and it might be nice to change the palette of the rooms every ten levels. The lava is a purposeful juxtaposition to the ice - though it is never stated in the game, the character is meant to be traversing the "Puzzle Volcano." Now that I think about it, I don't know where that idea came from. Playing your game made me think I should experiment with the interplay of ice and fire a bit more in future updates.
Good point about walking speed - I will add a "toggle run" option.
I had planned a mechanic that caused blocks to turn 90 degrees, but somehow that fell by the wayside during my chaotic workflow.
As for the out-of-place easy levels... yeah, I'm not sure why I never moved those earlier. And level 25 and 26, I had initially thought were slightly different solutions, but upon further testing I realized that they were, indeed, identical except for the block colors switching. Oops! I will definitely add reordering and quality control to the v2.1 to-do list. That last level was poorly conceived as a vain attempt to place my little puzzle guy among the pantheon of video game legends, as well as startle the player with the sudden immensity of the room - but it did end up being mostly tedious and easy. It needs reworked, for sure.
Oh, and I forget if I mentioned this, but I sent you 2 free keys on FaceBook to share with whomever you please, as thanks for your generous donation.
Thanks again, and stay tuned - v2.1 will add more levels for no extra charge (Christmas-themed!).
Absolutely brilliant. Beyond anything I could have dreamt up, and fun, yet frustrating, as any good puzzle is. People would pay for this. If you ever want to do a bundle or collaborate, I would be honored.
By the way, thanks for buying my game bundle and donating! I sent you 2 free keys on FaceBook to share with friends.
And FYI, there is a missing floor tile on stage 31 (or whatever level has symbols that kind of look like 31) under the top right stone wall when it gets blown up.
Keep on rockin'!

Okay, so I'm thinking the breakdown will be:
- Underhaul: $2
- Pixi Poxi: $3
- Stacky Stacky: $2
- Ice Block Puzzle: 74 cents
- Each of the other games which are normally free: 75 cents
That's $2 off of every game that normally costs money, and a decent amount for those who don't normally charge without chopping too much into the profits of those who charge. If there are any issues with this, let me know - I'm no expert, I'm just winging it, and I don't want to be unfair about the pricing of games that you've put time and effort into. This would make the bundle cost $9.99.
Hello all you who have submitted! I am starting this topic to discuss what the price of the bundle should be. This is my first bundle with so many people, so I don't know what kind of price to put to make it worth everyone's while, yet still a good discount. Let me know your suggestions or the minimum amount that you want to make from each sale of this bundle.

I'm looking for someone to make a more eye-catching cover art for my game. This is the game: https://allenmlewis17.itch.io/iceblockpuzzle
I'm hoping for something reminiscent of NES game cover art, like this one, for example:
I'm really not sure what an artist would charge for something like this, but I want it to be of a high calibur with heart and soul - that said, I don't want to break the bank, so a happy medium would be nice. Either reply to this or email me at allenmlewis17@gmail.com if you think you are up to the task. I can give you a free key and assets so you can get a feel for the game to base the cover on. I would pay through PayPal.

itch.io Community » Game Development » Help Wanted or Offered · Created a new topic [Bundle] Seeking Classic and/or Retro Puzzle Games for a Bundle
I am looking for anyone with a game similar to mine that wants to do a bundle with me. Can be one other person or multiple. I intend to distribute the payout proportionately between each member, i.e. if CreatorA's game costs $2 and the total value of the games in the bundle before sale price is $8, CreatorA would get 25% of the payout.
Here is my project: https://allenmlewis17.itch.io/iceblockpuzzle
It is a game about pushing a block across ice to reach the goal (and push switches, etc.).
Ideally, but not necessarily, your game should also have a retro aesthetic and reimagine a classic style of puzzle game. I look forward to working with you and hopefully earning us all some recognition!

itch.io Community » itch.io » Ideas & Feedback · Created a new topic Purchase-Dependant Embedded Games
That's as succinct as I could come up with for a title, but let me explain. You should be able to set up your game page so that if someone doesn't own the game, the free demo is loaded into the embedded game part of the page, but if someone does own the game, the page automatically loads the full version into the embedded part of the game page.
This would make it so much easier for people to discover and enjoy games, because when I go to a page with no embedded demo, I lose interest, but let's say I buy the game - itch.io doesn't currently have a function to detect this and let me play the full version in the browser. I have to download the game instead. So creators are forced to choose between having a demo, or nothing at all.
I think this would really improve things.

itch.io Community » itch.io » Questions & Support · Created a new topic Charging for the embedded game?
I thought that it was possible to make the embedded game only playable if you have purchsed it, but when I checked the page it is playable without purchasing, so I've temporarily disabled it. I'm hoping that the only way to do this isn't to make people download the HTML file, because 1) it is less convenient and defeats the purpose of making it playable in the browser, and 2) trying to open an HTML game from a file doesn't work because it detects a security problem and refuses to play.
How do I make the embedded game only playable to those who have purchased it?

I figured it out by poking around in the browser code with "Developer Tools." Turns out, it was trying to read this code that saves and loads the screen dimensions in desktop mode, but couldn't access the files for some reason. But, this code is only relevant for the desktop version anyway, so I just commented it out.
//Load config
var configfullscreen = true;
var configheight = 1080;
var configwidth = 1920;
var configgamepad = 0;
if (file_exists("file_config.txt"))
{
var configfile = file_text_open_read("file_config.txt");
configheight = file_text_read_real(configfile);
file_text_readln(configfile); //Next line
configwidth = file_text_read_real(configfile);
file_text_readln(configfile); //Next line
configfullscreen = file_text_read_real(configfile);
file_text_readln(configfile); //Next line
configgamepad = file_text_read_real(configfile);
global.gamepadID = configgamepad;
window_set_size(configwidth, configheight);
window_set_fullscreen(configfullscreen);
file_text_close(configfile);
}
