Does it have to have an interactive novel, or a game with a story? thanks!

The game needs to be some sort of Interactive Fiction, in the larger sense of the term. So either a visual novel, text adventure, parser, choice-based text game, or hyperlink.
What do mean by Interactive Novel vs Game with a Story?
